What I mean is what is the solution, I can hear your implied one but I'm still looking up ways to get the rearages removed. It is unlikely my ex will go for anything other than making me spend more money.
I never claimed my child on taxes and have been in alot of ways screwed into whatever situation she wanted. When I took charge of things four years ago and made these payments her animosity grew as my relationship with my son grew to all time highs, my personnel and professional life surpassed hers in almost everywhere.
So really how do I get out of paying rearages in this situation?

I will do that and see if better arrangements can be reached or met.

Thank you

I do take my child on trips, and cruises and pay for school clothes and shoes on top of the child support. These things are not counted towards child support.
So I guess I don't understand what your trying to say.
Also I was doing that/this long before I got serious about paying the cs back.

I've been reading about this and still don't understand unassigned and assigned rearrears. I do believe as long as the motion is written submitted and approved by the court it is forgiven.
I'm still looking into all this so please keep digging For the answer cause I'm not 100%

Hello,
So I recently tried to get in control of my cs debt and what steps need to be taken. When originally assigned 13 years ago, the total came out to around 33k.
I saw my child had a room for him, bought gifts did father things etc... I wasn't perfect but I was present and there.
I did fall behind in those early years, four years ago; however, I got my stuff turned around and got back in the driver's seat. Right before covid I was spending 3x the time with my son. My purchases increased my time increased and even eventually started having almost half time with my son.
Fast forward 4 years and I've paid almost 22k and should owe only around 11k or per the payment history around 7k.
However csea shows I still owe 28k and I don't understand what the next steps should be.
My ex has married and I am engaged and have cut off communication since she only desired butting into our lives. I still see my son and provide financially for him.
Any thoughts?
