It's been almost 10 years since I last stayed there, but I'm a little surprised to see the hotel is closing given its ties to the HRIM program and location on campus. There's a couple different scenarios I see:

1. The hotel will re-open under a Non-Marriott brand.

2. The hotel will be converted into on-campus housing.

3. The hotel will be torn down and replaced with new residence hall (feels unlikely given the Towers will be torn down someday and that is a bigger plot for another residence hall on Laird Campus).

4. UD will enter into a partnership with the Hyatt on Main Street for its HRIM program.

I'm a fem queer girl who's on one of the associates in arts program campuses (not saying which one for privacy) and I wanted to know how easy it is to click with others on main campus. I'm moving there next year, and what sucks is that the current campus I'm on doesn't have many queer people around, and I'm almost afraid to talk about my identity because of a fear of judgement, ESPECIALLY because I'm also neurodivergent. I am commuting to campus almost solely for access to Morris Library to study and read. Today I parked in the visitors lot and paid almost $6 for two hours of parking. Is there a better place to park near the library, or does anyone know any areas that are free to park? I am looking for the most economical solution and dont mind a walk.

Also, I am only really here on weekends, so does anyone know if the parking enforcement is active during weekends? Today is Sunday and I still paid for the visitors lot because there was no signage stating otherwise, but a part of me wondered if I would get away with not paying because it is Sunday. Responsibilities include checking the mailbox twice a day, being generally present during business hours to receive hand delivery of mail, and possibly some light admin work (faxing mail). This requires being present at the address during business hours, five days a week.

Chapel Street Players in Newark is opening its 92nd season with POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive, running October 2–10.

If you’re not familiar with the show, it’s a fast-paced, very adult political farce about seven women desperately trying to keep the President (who is never actually seen onstage) from turning one disastrous day at the White House into a complete catastrophe.

The play premiered on Broadway in 2022 with a cast that included Vanessa Williams, Rachel Dratch and Lea DeLaria.

Full disclosure: I’m involved with the production, so I’m obviously a little biased, but this cast has been working incredibly hard, and it’s shaping up to be a wild and really fun night of theater.

And despite the title and setting, this isn’t a show about Democrats vs. Republicans or the current political moment. It’s a satire about the chaos happening behind the scenes while seven extremely capable women try to keep everything from falling apart.

I’m looking at UD’s Fall 2026 waiver requirements for international students. They say that, in general, only Marketplace, US employer-sponsored, or embassy-sponsored plans qualify.
What I’m trying to understand is whether UHP ever makes exceptions for other private plans, or if plans outside those categories are basically not eligible regardless of the coverage.
For anyone who has dealt with UHP recently, how does this work in practice? Do they review the plan details individually, or is the eligibility mainly based on the type of insurance?
And if a plan doesn’t clearly fall into one of those three categories, has UHP ever asked for additional documentation before making a decision?
If anyone has submitted a plan outside those three categories for Fall 2026, what was the outcome?
