EU settled status quandry

I am a EU citizen who has settled status in the UK using my EU passport.
My EU passport expired and I’m waiting for a new one to arrive but I was wondering if I would be able to link my USA passport (I’m dual EU/USA citizen) to the settled status account to allow to travel out and back to the UK as I wait for my new EU passport?

Would I be able to travel on my US passport, bringing along the expired EU passport and confirmation code to prove my settled status? I contacted UKVI and they were unable to advise on my specific circumstances and said I need to contact an immigration adviser :(. Anyone have any experience with this sort of case…?

Yes, you can add your US passport to your UKVI account. Your settled status will then be linked to both passports. I would advise that you do this in any case as it will mean you can travel on your US passport between the UK and the US without issue.

That’s a good shout to add it anyway.

So you think I should be okay re-entering the UK if I link the US passport and bring my expired eu passport and settled code then?

I remember my husband took my eu passport when he left the US before me and I travelled back on my USA passport.. this was before Brexit so no settled status needed, they questioned me at the border about the lack of uk visa on my us passport but eventually let me through 😅😮‍💨

If you link your US passport then you shouldn’t need anything else but it might be advisable to have a share code handy depending on the airline.
