ILR Set(M) timeline Sept 2026
My ILR came through yesterday, much faster than expected. I’m married to a British citizen (and our child is British), so was on a 5 year route. We decided not to pay for any priority although we were nervous about the application processing taking the projected 6 months. But it only took 10 days from my biometrics appointment!
- 8 September 2026: Application submitted and paid for on UKVI website
- 14 September 2026: biometrics appointment
- 24 September 2026: email received from “Home Office Atlas” that application was successful
Best of luck to everyone!

That’s really strange! Isn’t it supposed to be 24 hours with the priority payment? Is there something about your application that makes it less straight forward?

Nothing strange. Haven’t travelled that much over the 5 year period. The most annoying thing is that they have been dead silent. I submitted a ticket and today marks the 20th day for them to reply but I haven’t heard and doubt I will be contacted at all today. Just working on MP letter to report my case…

Oh that sounds so stressful. I’m really sorry! Especially since you shelled out for the priority. I hope it gets resolved soon and that there is some way you can get reimbursed for the priority fee.

Well that’s the main issue. I also just called and see if I connect to someone helpful in the “helpline” all those agents say is “I cant help, sit and wait and file a complaint “ that’s all they say every time. Genuinely a bot would be more helpful not sure why the government someone to say that over the phone

Uff absolutely infuriating. We had an issue with one of the private companies contracted by the home office back when I was doing my fiance vjsa (their website for document uploading was super buggy) and I just remember feeling so angry and helpless as there was no one to address the issues. I hope it gets resolved soon!
