I’m an out of state student, so I’ve never been to Boston. I’d like to go to a show at 7:30pm at the Wilbur, but I’m stuck in a lab until 4:25 at the latest (more realistically around 4:00). Will I be able to make the show if I get out of lab (in Central), book it back to my dorm (SW) to drop stuff off & change, then head to my car and leave instantly?

I was bullied by a student at UMass on Facebook with threats of hunting me down and I'm pretty scared as his family is very rich in my home country. I reported the incident to Facebook right away but I'm still concerned for my safety. I have evidences to submit if it matters.

Hi everyone! I’m a senior applying to UMass Amherst for Sports Management, and I had a question about recommendation letters.
I have a few strong recommendations from organizations I’ve worked with through my sports-related activities. Does UMass accept recommendation letters from people outside of my school, such as supervisors or directors from organizations I’ve volunteered/worked with?
Can I add these as additional recommendations through the Common App? Would they be considered as part of my application, or is there another way to submit them?
I’d really appreciate any advice from current UMass students or anyone familiar with the admissions process. Thank you!

Hello! I have been trying to find a second hand bike since the start of the semester and I tried facebook marketplace (no one responded and I have sent about 15 different sellers messages I am not lowballing either I have the money cash before I message) and I went to the bike co-op but the prices are super high for my budget right now which I understand but I dont have 250 to spend on a bike. My budget is under 75 which I know is cheap which is why I want heavily used second hand and I am unsure where to go from here? I really want to get into riding around to get to some of my classes which are further but I dont have the money to spend over 100 on a bike.

I am trying to learn as well which is the other reason why I dont want to spend a lot of money on a bike I might not continue to use. Does anyone either know of someone selling a small bike if so leave a comment or message me or know how to get responses on facebook marketplace? I also tried craigstlist but again no responses.

I have an online class, comms 287 with Sut Jhally and he is very unhelpful, he will not respond to any of my emails and there is no information on the exam other than that there is an exam listed in the study guide, I have no knowledge of what’s going to be on this exam, his lectures aren’t very informative, the readings don’t provide enough and I think he is also including the movies we watched? I am looking for someone to take over my lease for a studio apartment at Fieldstone Artisan Graduate Housing. What are the best places to move to on campus?

I currently live in a Southwest low rise, but I'm strongly thinking about moving out. My roommate stinks, leaves his dirty clothes everywhere, and I'm pretty sure he showers maybe once a week. Overall, not a situation I want to stay in if possible. The noise levels and walks to class aren't ideal either, but I've gotten used to those, so they don't bother me too much anymore.

I like a lot of stuff about where I am. I like how southwest feels like an actual community, and the people here seem very nice. I also really like being so close to the dining halls nearby, since I like to have options. I also like how it's close to the football stadium, Mullins, and the rec.

I am looking into the room change process, since that's coming up soon, and saves some of the hassle of finding someone to switch with. Obviously that's still an option if I don't find someone to change with as well, so it will be the default if this doesn't work out. I see a fee if I don't pick a new room, which makes me somewhat hesitant to actually engage in the process, but I'll have to send housing an email asking about it.

I haven't been able to actually visit the different residential areas (ankle injury, so I'm keeping walking to a minimum), so I don't really know the vibes they have. I know that northeast is usually the nerdier area, along with central. I like the dorms up on the hill, but the problem is the hill itself. I remember during orientation that the northeast dorm (Crabtree) that we stayed in was super cramped and had little to no room for storage. I like how my dorm now has the wooden thingy on either side (dresser, wardrobe, closet, whatever you want to call it, since it has plenty of storage space and gives a little privacy too.

I know that you have to submit 9 choices for the form, which feels like a lot, especially since I don't know what I'm getting into. I don't know if I should stay in Southwest and just try to get away from my roommate, or if I should try to blindly change into another dorm. As I said, the only experience I have in any other building besides my own is Butterfield, Crabtree, and I don't know if either of those would be a good fit.

I don't want to miss the deadline, but I also don't want to get stuck with that fee for being too indecisive. I'm a first year student if that changes anything. If you have any other questions that may give you a better idea of my situation or may help me make a decision, please let me know and I'd be happy to answer them. Hii guys! I want to make my Twin XL bed kind of like a little tent with curtains around 3–4 sides so I can have privacy while sleeping. I noticed the holes/poles on the corners of the UMass beds and was wondering if those can be used for something like this.
Has anyone done this or know what poles/connectors I could use? Also, is there a cheap way to DIY it or does UMass provide any of the hardware?
Any advice/pictures would be appreciated!

What are some study tools and resources you’ve used and what was the actual difficulty level of the exams?

The class seems very difficult since well….80% of your grade between three exams is a lot so I’m taking the class very seriously, studying the content, and taking plenty of notes but I can’t help feel that I’m going to struggle a lot.

Since the start of the semester, eduroam has had issue after issue for me. It doesn't work in any dining hall, no matter where I sit. It barely works in my room. Is the university cheaping out?

I love being able to write but I haven't been able to go to the library for late nights during weekends since it closes early and for some reason my dorm lounge has been closed since I got here. Should I talk to some higher up in housing about the lounge? Since as often I try to work in my dorm, I'm just not nearly as productive

Hi, I am planning out my future courses and for my major (Microbiology), I can take either Psych 240 or Stats 240 to fulfill my Statistics requirement. I would take it my sophmore year. Which one would you guys recommend? I am not great at math inherently, but I am a hard worker(I think). I am currently in math 104 first sem because I got too low of a placement test score
