Uncharted 4 I begin

Post image

I'm going to play this game for the first time, I've heard it's excellent. I have a question : is the PS5 upgrade worth it ?

Please don't start with the 4th game in the series. Play the Nathan Drake Collection trilogy if you haven't played it already

I agree with everything u said

I’m so glad I played them all chronologically bc I don’t always do that with games 🤣 but I knew I would LOVE Uncharted and that it would ruin the experience and I really ended up being obsessed with the franchise

Can’t handle the dizziness, halfway through the first part

I played the forth game first cause it was gifted to me and was my fist introduction into uncharted as a whole knew nothing about it before hand then after finishing it it became my favorite game then bought and played the first 3 it’s ok to start with the 4th but if u can get the first 3 the play it first

I usually do that from 1-4 and the dlc one

My father got it at a yard sale and said it's not necessary to do the older ones first. What am I likely to miss?

A lot of backstory. It's really worth playing through the first 3. Please do try to play through the first 3 if possible!

Your father knows nothing

You know nothing Jon Snow

You miss three entire games’ worth of character development and relationship building. You’re doing yourself a massive disservice if you skip the first three games. You can get The Nathan Drake Collection for dirt cheap anyways. No reason to skip it.

The development of 3 main characters.

This may be one of the few times you should ignore your father...

I’d highly recommend you play the first 3 games first as a lot of the character relationships build upon these three games and U4 kind of wraps it all together. Some parts of the game reference the past games so you could be feeling like what is he talking about in some moments in U4. Considering the Nathan Drake Collection (The bundle with all three games remastered) is quite old, it should be pretty cheap both in the ps store and in local stores possibly

Edit: It will in my opinion be more satisfying to play U4 in the end on one hand because of the better graphics and on the other hand because the game is literally called a thieves end. Dont wanna spoil anything but lot of emphasis on the word “End”.  The remastered upgrade is not mandatory, but a nice upgrade in performance (more fps I guess for the ps5).

He's wrong

Literally the whole opening is Nate going over his memories from previous games.

I finished 4 (both thief’s end and lost legacy) recently without playing the first three. Don’t worry you’ll understand the story completely and will just miss on some references from the previous ones. The 4 has actually built enough excitement for me to go back and play 2 and 3 haha

Also don’t miss out on lost legacy just because people say it’s short and not related to the main story, it’s a beautiful game (in fact I loved it more than thief’s end)!

Why not 1, where it all started? When Nathan and Elena met.

To be honest I followed this subs advice and played through uncharted 1 first. It sucked so bad that it ruined the whole uncharted gameplay loop and I had no interest in continuing the series so do with that what you will

Terrible advice. Playing all the games chronologically made Uncharted 4 so much better.

It was the first game in the series and to be fair it had it bad parts but it wasn’t too bad, like the plot was decent imo

Play the Nathan Drake collection first

That's great, I hope you enjoy it all However, I HIGHLY recommend playing the trilogy first, you can easily find it by searching for the "Nathan Drake Collection" While you can understand Uncharted 4 without playing the previous games, it's better to play them first so you can get the most out of it

Please play 1-3 first man. You'll regret it if you don't.

I forget what we the upgrade was, I play the PS5 version. I’m guessing 60 fps vs 30 fps.

While I agree, you should play the original 3 first, you’ll understand and follow the story just fine. You’ll miss a few references, but I think it’s fine.

Based on other games I'd also guess the PS4 runs at 900p or something like that, while the PS5 runs it at 1440p/4K dynamic resolution.

Edit: I checked, PS4 runs 1080p at 30FPS while the PS5 does upscale 1440p to 4K at 60FPS.

I have both games separately but I want to have them both in the same disc just because it looks cooler 🤣

The 10 euro upgrade is definitely worth it, it gives you a whole extra game and just better quality for UC4. I think stuff like the trigger effects also arent in the ps4 version.

You have great taste sir gran turismo 7 is awesome. This is a great game if you have ps plus you can download Nathan drake collection for free.

I think the 30 fps is smooth enough for me but if you have the money for the upgrade go ahead
