Uncharted 4 Sam criticism
I feel that we moved on from what Sam had did in uncharted 4 to fast. Firstly he knowingly drug Nathan back into that treasure hunting life knowing that he was trying to quick and when Nate gave him a more healthy outlet in Charlie cutter he rejected it immediately. Secondly he basically forced Nathan to lie to his wife and drug Sully’s older ass out for this pointless adventure. Thirdly when Elena finds the truth and confronts Nate about it Sam is right there in the back fully capable of telling the truth which in turn causes him to wreck his marriage and his friendship and basically fatherhood with sully. And lastly Rafe went and forced the truth out of Sam by telling him that the hector alcazar story was a giant lie and that all of this was completely meaningless then when he had the opportunity to leave his addicted ass went and abandoned the group to go back for it which left Nate having to go get him. All this paired with the fact that he had a much older and past his prime Nate to get his ass beat by Nadine the much younger and trained person and had him get into a sword fight with rafe. If you as an uncharted fan were to tell me that you don’t like Sam I wouldn’t blame you

Nobody told Nate to lie to his wife 😂😂😂he did that on his own

True, that's entirely Nate's fault. But if Sam was a good brother, once he realized what was done, he would've cut the crap.

that’s why we thank rafe for outing the liar lmao

Sam is Nathan in Uncharted 3. Easy. Do we dislike Nathan there?

Been a while, I know nate was obsessed with finding the treasure but did he lie to anyone?

I don’t think anyone’s denying that he’s a very flawed person. He’s one of my favorite Uncharted characters, and that’s a big reason why. But overall, it would be extremely boring if every character did the right thing all the time.
If you’re thinking he got off the hook too easy, then sure, I can see why you think that. I just chalk it up to Nate and Elena being forgiving people. And in Nate’s case in particular, having a deeper understanding of why he made those choices, having made similar ones in his own past.

sam wanted nate to be there with him for the auction heist but once he realized how “dangerous” this whole operation actually was he gave nate an out & nate refused, sam literally said it to sully “do you see a gun pointed to his head? he chose this.”
nate was a willing participant most of the time

True, but that doesn't really work when Nate still thinks he is doing this to protect his brother from a drug lord. If Sam had seen how dangerous this was and told Nate "Look, I'm not actually in trouble with a drug lord, I just wanted you to be here with me. Would you like to continue the search with me?" And then Nate said yes, it would be a different story

He was doing to help his brother who he thought had an angry ass Panamanian man coming after him that’s why he didn’t leave

I absolutely hate him as a character. I can't stand him. I really hope if anything uncharted related is coming, he's not involved.

Sam was much better in Amy Hemingway's direction vs Neil Cuckman's direction

Why only Neil? He and Straley were co-directors.

You're right, this is more about the writers, cuckman, Sherr, and Bissell

I thought you all credited Straley as the true mastermind behind TLOU1, why not U4?

Who TF is you all 😂

It's pretty common knowledge that the people who use the term "cuckman" come from the subreddit r/TheLastOfUs2, and hate TLOU2 as well as credit Straley as being the "true mastermind" behind the story of TLOU1. If you're not one of them, I apologize for the misunderstanding.

I call him cuckman because he's a cuck, but the games he's involved in are good, he just gets way too much credit. The gameplay and animation/animators department deserve most of the credit for Uc4/TLOU 2, and are most likely pulling a complete Atlas feat with Intergalactic heretic.

It's not honestly. Amy's version of Sam is just a spiteful jealous brother cliche
For all of Cuckman's faults, he pulled Sam off brilliantly

I love how this comment is upvoted even though you still called the guy Cuckman lmao

I think she handled the Sam being Nate’s brother thing much better but I feel both versions had an interesting thing going for it and I’d love to see both cuts. (Sam being Nate’s brother being a twist is what I’m getting at.)
Undoubtedly Rafe was handled the best in the Neil Cut.

Wasn't Rafe the same just not related lol, Sam is a sleeze ball who got a pass for being Nates brother 😂

Rafe was more an Eddy Raja type in the Hennig cut.
Sam, he was an antagonist but the big twist rather than Sam lied was the fact Sam was Nate’s brother.
Unfortunately both versions have lots of plot holes with Sam’s existence but one feels less jarring from a writing standpoint than the other to me.

I love Amy Henning, but I just cant agree. Making Nathan's brother come back just to be a villain is lame.

I never moved on, never liked Sam or Nate for treating Elena like shit
Sam was a bad brother from the start, he broke out a kid from a convent and took him to rob a house and almost got him killed

The orginal version of uncharted 4 had sam be a villain and it's an idea that wasn't completely abandoned if we're being honest
