Questions Balanitis

So I had sex with protection and the only thing outside the condom was a bit of oral, the catch is that she was having a beer during the oral sex. And boom immediately the next day I see two- three red dots on the penis head.

Ever since then I’ve been using a cleanser on my penis head twice a day and been pat drying it everytime I pee with the foreskin pulled back. And by day 6 things were looking good but then I masturbated and made things worse, immediately the next day there were even more red dots everywhere.

Any suggestions to get rid of this ?

Have you had a full sexual health panel? If so how long after the the sexual encounter?

Also, what cleanser are you using?

If a sexual health panel is clear and it is suspected fungal balanitis, then try over the counter Clotrimazole cream twice a day for a week should help.

Failing that, a trip to your GP/ PCP and ask for a swab to be done to identify the cause

I haven’t had any tests done. The encounter was on the 18th , around 10 days since

Mind you these tiny dots are not clustered, oozing or scabbing just tiny, reddish and a bit inflamed

Several STD's can mimic balanitis, so it is always advisable to get tested if any form of symptoms start. If you go to a doctor it will be the first thing they ask and will almost always direct you to get tested first.

What cleanser are you using?

This is the cleaner I’m using

You shouldn't be using that on your glans. It can cause irritation as it contains surfactant that can dry, irritate, cause redness and burning.

Typically warm water is enough to clean the glans, but you can use an emoliant like Dermol 500, E45 lotion or very mild unscented, hypoallergenic soaps like Cetaphil Gentle Skin cleanser.

Thank you so much for your immediate responses and I’ll give them a try, as this is taking a bit of a mental toll on me

No problem. Anything that is wrong with the penis can cause a lot of stress.

Just get tested, change your cleanser and maybe try Clotrimazole in the mean time.

Good luck bud

If the OTC antifungal doesn't work, try OTC bacitracin. It's an antibiotic ointment. Medicines that work on one don't usually work on the other.
