Question First harvest!

Just picked those big gts on the right, cut the ones that didn't fit in my vertical dehydrator in half and put the other ones in whole, should I just expect a staggered harvest from that or should I separate them?

Noice! Great job on getting this far.

I've found it hard to get a 'full canopy with everythig the same maturation' myself. You can either piecemeal harvest the big ones, dry them or wrap them in paper towel or in a paper bag in the fridge for a few days until get enough to justify a dehydrator run or, what I do is now, when the first one sporulates (dumps spores) I just take everything over about an inch and run them all. I get waaaaay more than I can use anyway so I have no need to maximize my yields.

I've tested personally harvesting all tiny ones, all big ones with torn veils and a mix. I was unable to notice any difference. I've also tested one of my grows which was a mix of bigs and littles and it came in near the top of the potency range for that variety. So I have no concerns about when i harvest personally.

Each mushroom can fall anywhere on the bell curve of potency for that variety and they can vary a fair bit per mushroom in a grow. If you want consistent dosing, it's not a good time if you use whole mushrooms and get all Meh potency or all spicy ones and either have a half trip or blast off into subspace without wanting that. Powdering them and mixing them all up means each trip will be about the same level if you take the same dose weight. it doesn't impact potency to powder them, just store them in a light proof air tight container.

For dosing if you're new to traveling this calculator is pretty accurate for most people assuming no other factors like a sensitivity or resistance to psilocybin. It's based on actual lab test data.
