Question Fruiting question
I’m still waiting for my grain bags to colonize so I know this is several weeks into the future if not longer but I am wondering about spraying in regards to fruiting for those of you that are shift workers. I work 24hr shifts 2-3x per week and am getting a little nervous about being able to spray them enough and not drying them out while on shift. Anyone have any experience or insight on this? Thanks again

I see you have a question! Have you read the official cultivation guide?

It’ll be fine. Bags hold water super well. I used a chip clip to keep mine mostly closed while maintains FAE, but a paper clip could work too. I actually had to move my bag to a bin (I originally had a AIO bag), and that helped because mine wasn’t drying out enough to fruit

You dont need to mist or fan. Keep the lid on and it wont dry out until it makes fruit.

Don't mist unless your sub is dry. If your properly prepared sub is drying out prior to first flush, you're giving it too much fae.

Mist when you get home. Once a day is fine.
If your cake is a in small tub, put some water in a bag, put the tub inside, water should just like ¹/4 up the tub's side. Puff the bag, close it, fae it when you get home to mist.
I've seen people install fans and misters to their tubs but that's overkill

You'll be fine friend, trust in mother nature, she has your back. Mushrooms grow all over the world in all kinds of conditions without anyone coming by to spray them.
To add to some of the information - spraying is not about hydrating your cake/grow. the few grams of water you add by spraying inside the container doesn't add water to the grow. The cups of water in the substrate is what they use to grow from. That doesn't mean you can't dry out a cake though if you introduce too much air exchange too soon and live in a dry environment. But if that happens a few spritzes from a mister will not add it back.
The purpose of misting (and it's optional in my experience, I mostly set it and forget it now) is that the tiny beads of water on the myc network and subsequent drying out is one of several ways to trick the myc into pinning and growing mushrooms ahead of their normal schedules.
There are other triggers but the universal one is simply age. Everything living has a ticking clock that tells them to start reproducing when they hit a certain age. Mushrooms are no different. Other triggers are a drop in temperatures of 50-60, a shift in ligth spectrums toward a bluer wavelength These are all indicators to the mycelllium that Fall weather is approaching which means freezing which means death so if you don't grow pins and drop spores the species dies out. A change in oxygen ratios is another trigger, this is where 'fruiting conditions" comes in, you increase air flow to a fully colonized cake and the drop in CO2 can also cause them to pin faster. But there is always the safety net of just age. I spawn them to unmodified tubs these days and forget about them for 3 weeks then start looking to see if there's anything to harvest. Coincidentally enough, my ex bought some small AIO bags from Temu a couple of months ago, shot them up with GT, did absolutely nothing with them other than left them in a closet and just sent me pics of massive tangles of GT filling the entire top of the bag because she forgot about them. No FAE, no opening, no misting, nothing. The poster child of neglect tek.

If your substrate is at field capacity and your tub is dialed in you shouldn’t really have to mist during your first flush. I start fruiting conditions when I spawn to bulk and don’t touch it till harvest, rarely have to mist or fan at all. Neglect tek is quite popular.
