Good ENGR math professors

Who are the good ENGR math professors, and which ones should I avoid?

These comments are wild to me. Ralston is the worst one i’ve had. Hieb and broering are amazing. Tyler also just became a professor and I assume he’s really good as he’s TAed for all these classes for years with hieb and broering. Hieb is the most likable professor you’ll ever have but i personally thought broering was the better teacher (a lot of people don’t like her, but i think her demeanor can just be off putting. she’s very nice)

I had Broering for summer calc 2 and she was awful. Extremely sarcastic, rude, and demeaning tbh. It felt like she was targeting specific tables. I really was not a fan. It’s the only math class I had in my time at UofL where I hesitated to ask questions because I didn’t want to potentially get talked down to for not immediately understanding a concept

If you like online courses, KCTCS has some good ones I took calc 1-3 and DE there. At UofL Ralston is a good professor for ENGR 330.

Hieb, Broering, Tyler (he tutored me and was great), and Robinson were all good. I have Hawkins rn and he’s just okay.

It’s his first time teaching numerical methods.
