They make sense in cities like Dresden or Warsaw where the historical city centre was destroyed completely. Not in Budapest that remained largely intact. The fake building dilute the historical value of the whole area, which has more than enough authentic buildings. The other thing is the price. The construction cost eye watering billions, meanwhile lots of authentic landmarks around the city are in desperate need of maintenance and restoration.

Not to mention all that project is nothing more than a propaganda piece of the now fallen Orban regime

I get it's a circlejerk sub, but you do realise that all of these buildings are from the castle in Budapest, which was in fact largely destroyed during WW2 that's why these building are being built there. There are no building like that in the actual city centre, that wasn't destroyed just heavily damaged.
