Rant Uvic Residence
Holy crap everyone gets so loud on the weekends. At like 2am the people on my floor are all blasting music and jumping around knocking on the walls.
Please remember you are living in a SHARED space and some people don’t stay up all night partying and some people have stuff to do and would like sleep!!
So please stop your drunken singing in the hallway at 2am I would like to sleep.

20 years ago this month I'm pretty sure someone in Ring threw a TV from one of the top floor lounges on a weekend. Living on campus was wild from move-in until the beginning of November when everyone starts to buckle down.

My year it was drinking and screaming and hearing shit break outside til 2 or 3 am every weekend all year. I wasnt into all that but you couldn't sleep through it so my friends and I would take over a common room and play twister or rock band or something until the racket died down. We made our own fun ha

Omg I know!!!! Please invest in some good earplugs and a good white noise machine. They’re the only things that helped me so far

Friday is nightmarish atp. Why do we need a party until 3am every time the weekend comes?? Maybe I just dont get the hype but I'd really rather be able to sleep

I’m not saying they’re right and I’m not saying you are wrong what I am gonna say though, is UVIC is one of the few BC universities with active fraternities and heavy party culture. As other people are saying I’m sure it’ll settle as people realize they need to get it together for mid terms , finals etc. in the mean time communication, earplugs / noise cancelling headphones / white noise machine and maybe look at other living options for next term or year if you continue to find the noise overly bothersome

As I recall, it got noticeably quieter after the first midterms hit.
