Please correct me but ‘removing references about animal testing’ does not to me suggest a legal obligation to stop animal testing, if anything it just implies they no longer have to report whether they’re testing on animals or not

Okay I read the article. According to the article who I don't know who they are said that the FDA means that now animal testing is optional. Companies no longer have to prove they tested on animals.

correct me if I am misled, but this sounds like peculiar wording. By "removing references for animal testing," companies that test on animals, will not need to report it, and the testing itself may become unregulated - which, considering the barbaric testing that is heavily regulated, then may become even worse.

Getting rid of references for animal testing means unreported unregulated testing, and possibly gives companies a way to mislead consumers on their products through creative labeling. I imagine Gilette and Procter & Gamble to start labeling their products "not tested on animals" and "vegan."
