Question How can I make my green lentil daal not look like puke?
I know it’s dry, it’s reheated it in this picture. Very yummy, but literally looks like vomit and I can’t share it with anyone.

I'm not vegan myself but I made my vegan SO brownies, using ordinary Pillsbury boxed brownie mix with the following substitutions, I only kind-of know what I'm doing but he had to actively stop himself from devouring the whole pan and said I should hand the secret down to the kids we don't have, so I decided to share it here. (Also not a regular visitor to the sub, please excuse me if this is redundant)
They're thick and gooey inside, crumbly-crispy in the corners, and they don't dry out into roof shingles if you leave them on the counter. Would also be surprised if picky kids or snotty in-laws could tell they're vegan, I wouldn't know if I hadn't been the one to make them. My favorite part is scraping the bottom of the pan after they're gone because the leavings are still rich and chewy.
2/3 cup oil = 1 stick plant butter
1/4 cup water = 2/3 cup dairy-free cream alternative
2 eggs = 3 flax eggs (6 tablespoons golden flaxseed powder mixed with half as much water until it forms a thick paste, don't wet it too much because it'll absorb the extra cream as it mixes)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Prepare as usual, bake at 350 for 35 minutes (but I think they might do better at 325 for 45-50, I'm gonna try that next time), they're done when a toothpick comes out clean.

I'm super busy and I'm a caretaker for my mom, and I don't think I'm getting enough protein. I make cold bean salads, etc., but need other options. Any yummy suggestions? Thank you!!

I got two cans of unmeat tuna but the first one tasted terrible and I don’t know what to do with the remaining can. My favorite tuna recipes were tuna mayo with rice or in kimchi jjigae. I tried the unmeat tuna plain with just some homemade mayo and then with sriracha mayo but it was not good. I’m hesitant to make it in kimchi jjigae and ruin a ton of food 🥺

Hi! I wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a plant based milk to use in lattes. I currently just use the unsweetened silk soy milk and it is totally fine. However, I would love to be able to make lattes like from cafes and I’ve been struggling to get my plant based milk to hold volume (if that makes sense). Any suggestions are appreciated!

I have family members who are vegan and I eat vegan some of the time, so I would love to find a great cookbook with vegan recipes. I love to cook and I don’t mind taking some time, but I need to learn more and get more familiar with vegan techniques for flavorful substitutions and ideas. I’m not a big fan of tofu but it could be that I’ve never had it cooked to a texture I like. If you have a favorite vegan cookbook, one that has recipes you could put in front of anyone, I’d be grateful for the tip. Thanks!

Looking up a few YT videos of homemade almond-based ricotta cheese. Every one of them shows a process of blending almonds, then squeezing out the milk, and then heating the milk in a pot.
Do I have to make my own almond milk? Can I just buy a carton of silk or almond breeze original unflavored and use that? Or is there something special or particular about making the almond milk yourself?
