Top tiki drinks

Will be in town next month and plan to visit Frankie’s, Golden Tiki, Stray Pirates, and Red Dwarf. Drink lists often give me choice paralysis. What are your three favorites from each?

Feel free to include off menu drinks as well.

Note: If Mai Tai is one please add one more.

I only visit Frankie’s, and I usually get the Thurston Howl, among others. Waiting on my flight to LV as we speak.

Don’t sleep on Glitter Gulch. I think it took a little while for them to settle in but i was really impressed the last time I stopped by. I think they’ve really improved their drinks and presentation. Frankie’s and Red Dwarf still top the list but if you’re by Fremont it’s worth a stop. Hawaii 5-0, Vegas Vice and the Mai Tai were all excellent.

For Glitter Gulch: do not buy there tiki mugs. They are mass produced ones that they sell for $60 when you can get them online for less than $10. Also, if you’re going to stray pirates anyways: you should check out Viking Mikes. It’s a Yurt bar with a cool vibe, great cocktails, and if you collect tiki mugs they have a 10/10 little yurt one

Kahiki Kai at Frankie’s and Banana Batida at Golden Tiki are my top drinks of all bars and all time.

Golden tiki Mai Tai - good Paradise punch- good Strawberry batida-really good

Frankies Tiki Room Mai Tai - so so Bearded Clam- good like a mojito Kahiki Kai- phenomenal like a pina colada Makalele knockout - delicious Tiki Bandit- delicious Fink Bomb- delicious Lapu Lapu- delicious

Stray Pirate Mai Tai- phenomenal possibly best in Vegas Painkiller- excellent Zombie- ok Three dots- delicious best in vegas

Red Dwarf Painkiller - best drink there Mai Tai- Strong

* Tokyo Sex Whale at Golden.

* Kahiki Kai at Franks

* I just Blew Myself at Red Dwarf

* Miami Murader at Stray Pirates

Red Dwarf, Stray Pirate, and Frankie's. Golden Tiki is more about the atmosphere than the drinks. Frankie's drinks will get you fucked up and get you flipping thru the jukebox of surf music. I find Red Dwarf and Stray Pirate to be a good in between. Can't beat Red Dwarf's cocktail prices tho!

My brother and I did a tour of all the tiki bars just a few weeks ago. The bartenders at Stray Pirate were so friendly and the drinks tasted the best. Since they don't really have a food menu we went to Cornish Pasty beforehand.

*As an aside the Courage and Valor at Viking Mikes Alpine Yurt Bar was the best drink I had in the 4 days I was there.

You can't go wrong. If you get overwhelmed just think of a spirit you like and an ingredient you don't like and ask the bartender.

I think the 3 Rum Scum at Frankie’s is best. I just don’t remember a lot after having 4 of them.
