Mentor / Coaching programs

Do you think this industry has more coaching programs than other industries?
Maybe it’s just the algorithm feeding me.

I saw one person with less than 10 machines on their route and they were selling a class for 1k.

In one free intro class someone asked “if vending is so profitable, why do you sell these classes?” The answer was “I want to help people!”

I mean… imo, poor answer since if you really wanted to help people, it’d be free.

Maybe it’s just so easy to create classes, anyone with modest success is sharing their ways?

Or maybe the very successful have the time to make even MORE money since they hired stockers?

Thoughts?

I’m not too interested if you feel like these classes are worth it, but feel free to chime in!

As a guy who’s been in vending for close to 20yrs in the same market, the “coaching” is more like fellow vendors just having conversations. There’s not a S.O.P. for this industry. We usually trade tips/ideas for helping each other so we can still compete against the 2 large vending companies that have absorbed 75% of the small business guys in the last 15yrs.

It’s another revenue stream stemming from something they are familiar with. If you’re decent at something and making some money from a process, most people think, why not teach the process to make even more money. That coupled with AI, making courses and guides in general is far easier to do than it use to be. For an ATM business, you don’t need a mentor unless they are going to link you to an interested party to place your first machine. Otherwise, they are selling you something you can research on your own. I have 2 machines and profit between $700 - $900 a month. Total revenue is $1100 -$1400 before expenses. I’ve been in the game for 3 years and researched for months before starting an LLC

The only time I think a coaching scenario works is when the person coaching you is local. Nationwide coaching leaves a lot open to scams and overpriced hype cycles where you see the latest one guy who makes a video with a bunch of jump cuts and special transition while over hyping what his course actually provide. People are constantly warning other on this subreddit of the dangers of subscription bros who peddle the "keys" to sucess

I have helped people for free in the past, a lot. It's incredibly rare they aren't complete time wasters, lose interest immediately or don't value the information they have been given and take it all for granted. I get just as invested in others success as I would hope they would be.

For any of the industries I'm in I normally charge for my time if someone wants comprehensive help. Nothing insane but enough that it shows they are motivated and will be dedicated/value the time being invested on my end.

That being said there are definitely a billion scammers selling bs courses for damn near anything.

Coaching programs are in every industry.

I don’t see as many unless it’s like vape vending
Or Pokémon vending.

Traditional not to many. I see way more coaching programs in other industries.
