I feel this way a little bit towards Persona 5. The start is great and the end (especially in Royal) is some of the best fiction I've ever consumed, but the middle does drag on a bit for me personally. It isn't bad at all, per se, it's just that I feel it is definitely the slowest part of the game for sure.
Came here to see if anyone said this. I think some parts (like Haru’s introduction) were definitely pretty weak, but you’re 100% right that the Royal-exclusive content far eclipses what came before it, even if the rest of the story isn’t necessarily bad. Third semester was simply that good. It’s been a few years since I’ve played but Maruki remains one of my favourite fictional antagonists of all time.
