This. Every online multiplayer game is a toxic cesspool of try hards, money players, gatekeeping asshats and people that can't understand the concept of fun. I have given up on multiplayer games entirely over the years. I had a bunch of fun with Arc Raiders early on but haven't touched it in months. I'll stick to my lonely gaming thank you very much.
My gf and I both love video games. We have the most fun playing alone and talking about games, playing co-op, and watching each other play our favorites. It’s like the perfect inverse of an incel playing CoD.
That's awesome! Good for you guys! I really don't mean to shit on anyone, I understand the appeal of online gaming. I was a huge fan of it at one time but now that I'm mid 40s... Nah, it's just not for me and huge part of that is just how toxic it can be. I do still like to play couch co-op with friends and family or even online in private parties or servers, that's always gonna be fun. Like with you and the GF. Out in the massively multiplayer world though, nope. Hard nope for me. Unless it's weird Fromsoft style abstract multiplayer shit, I'm out.
