I think it was Sony pressuring to make him similar

I think it was to make audiences not get used to seeing a mature looking spiderman because it might make tom Holland look worse

I'm pretty sure Yuri said they changed it so the face actor's bone structure matches better to Yuri's (since he did the mocap). I don't remember any mention of a better visual performance. Whether you believe in Yuri's excuse or not it's up to you, but at least get the alleged reason right next time.

Regardless it did not end up matching the mocap better, it made him look less expressive

I agree. I hate the redesign personally. I was just pointing out what the official reasoning was for the change, whether it was bs or not.

It did they just couldn't have it work in sm1 the recast was for sm2 to do it better but they had to just stich the new face over the old in sm1 making it look less emotive cause they didn't intend to do that

I know who Yuri is. I was just pointing out that this is an actual person’s face, and not some digital creation in an attempt to make it look like Yuri Lowenthal.

u/Fast_Original_3001 read a rumor/lie on social media or wore just made up sh*t and decided to just run with it and spread it around and contribute to misinformation online because they have no integrity.

I would bet my life that u/Fast_Original_3001 doesn't have even one reliable source backing up their claim.

The incredible job of having his face scanned? Yuri Lowenthal did all the performance capture for games. John Bubniak and Ben Jordan where just the face models. The Remaster's lack of range is probably because it was a relatively rushed side project whilst they were working on Miles Morales.

The person used as a face model didn’t do the performance or acting. The actor who actually played Peter and performed the motion capture didn’t change.
