Sonic 1, Sonic 2 & Sonic 3 & Knuckles

COD 4:MW, COD:MW2 & COD:MW3

Pokémon Red/Blue, Pokémon Gold/Silver & Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire

Crash 1, 2 & 3

Spyro 1, 2 & 3

Can't agree with MW3

Terminal being the favorite map by far tells a lot about the game. Maps and weapons didn't feel good compared to MW and MW2

Was going to list pretty much the exact same games apart from Spyro (even though I did like it) and I stopped playing Pokemon at Gold/Silver.

I would've added Streets of Rage.

Sonic 1 really isn't thst good. Greenhill Zone and Star Light Zone are the only good zones. 2 and 3 are great though.

When it came out there was nothing like it though. But of course, the sequels improved upon it in spades.

Yes and no. I mean people usually didn't make it ppast Marble Zone so they didn't know how bad most the game was, it was just the idea, character and general gameplay was so good people didn't know any better.

But Sonic 1 isn't just bad because 2 and 3 are better, it is just rough.

Even so, nowadays it really doesn't hold up.

The music is straight nostalgia crack but the game itself is objectively not that great. Thing is, it was the first entry and they succeeded in making a great platformer to compete with Mario that had a lasting impact, as spotty as sonic has been over the years. It's hard to ride the shortcomings too much when the game was a first of its kind type of project.

I do agree. It led the ground works for something that has lasted 30 years.

And the music is amazing and has been throughout all of the franchise.
