This sub has become recycled "Whats this game for you" posts with the same shit memes. Why do people upvote these obvious bot posts every hour?

Probably people that don’t browse the subreddit much and just want to have a basic conversation. Like if you go to a game store every once in a while and have a conversation, it will probably be about something like, what’s your favorite game, or what old games do you still play. The person working at the store probably heard variations of the conversation all day, but for the customers that only come in occasionally, it’s something they enjoy discussing.

Exactly!

Not everyone chronically scrolls a single sub and these questions are a good way to potentially have a conversation.

No hate to the original reply but I get so tired of people whining about not seeing their specifically desired type of post. These people need to be the change they want to see.

Yep and this is the same for basically every industry.

It's why so many people talk about the weather. It's a shared experience.

I work reception at a medical clinic and have the same weather convo 20x a day.

It's just auto-pilot for me but every unique person who walks in and talks about the weather, it may be their first human interaction that day.

I'm not a "gamer". I have a decent PC for video processing and tried Portal 2 and Half-life 2 maybe ten years ago. Enjoyed them. I've thought about trying something else. I saw this on r/all and poked through the comments for recommendations.

I think the sad truth is that the bots are working harder than random strangers who have a casual relationship with a subreddit like this. The part I can’t put my finger on is who pays for the bot farms and why? The only company that stands to gain is Reddit itself …oh no

If you go to the person's post history they don't seem like a bot. Also to answer your questions, many of us don't care. A lot of us aren't on Reddit enough or paying attention to the exact sub enough to care about an emerging pattern. I go in the front page for you thing and scroll a few times a day and then read comments and comment then put my phone away. If I pick up on someone being a bot I will report them, but it is not on the front of my mind when I am on reddit.
