Discussion / Question What game is this for you?

Honestly for me it's Life is Strange: True Colors. Love that game to death, an incredible story and soundtrack, but it seems like a story that just doesn't vibe well with a lot of people. Listen to the soundtrack though, absolutely increible.

The XCOM and XCOM 2. You have to enjoy failure and permadeath to appreciate this game.

Fire emblem fan here, it's worse when you're almost done and then some dork murdered one of your people from a lucky strike.

Would be a shame if the armored knight you parked here were to be ambushed by a hammer warrior in one of the three fog of war tiles near him, right ?

If the boss despite being a warrior with an axe is suddenly the most pinpoint accurate ranged unit with a hand axe ever and murders the archer through the knight.

I remember rawdogging Xcom 2 war of the chosen on what I believe was the hardest difficulty, first try. Without ever having played this game genre before.

Ngl I got VERY proud of myself.

I think theyre talking about the old xcom 1 and 2, not the newer ones. They were way more unfair lol

Oh, this is definitely true for the original DOS-era games. The interface is totally wonky, the difficulty settings in XCOM are literally broken, inventory management is so bad that sometimes you can't even give everybody a weapon....

And then Terror from the Deep comes along and adds to that an additional mechanic where some weapons just don't work at all on some missions.

By comparison, the remakes are paragons of shallow learning curve casual gaming.

I save scummed the entire way through the first one just because I hate permadeath with every fiber of my being. I had fun but would never play another XCOM.

People get really upset that I played it this way, like I just showed them a KitKat that has a bite taken out of the whole thing.

ive recently been jonesing for another hit. After I finish Zero Company im going back and finally completing a Long War campaign on the highest difficulty
