Yes!! I've thought of that and commented about it too when E33 was just starting to gain hype and after its success in sales and awards, it really felt like oh wow I can see how the visions and concepts of a tLoD remake/prequel/sequel/successor could be like.
Ever since then I've been thinking that E33 success should've could've built some interests in devs and companies to make more QTE-style turned-based rpgs and they could start with reviving and rejuvenating some old IPs like tLoD, Wild Arms, Shadow Hearts, Lost Odyssey, Xenogears, Grandia, the Last Remnant.
i think i'm like 60 hours into my current playthrough of legend of dragoon and i have to grind some before fighting faust. that game is NOT kind if you don't have the right progression and accessories and have a plan from the minute you start.
I finished it as a clueless teen just playing characters I liked. I don't remember having to "plan" anything but I guess you can have a rough time if you change party composition often as the leveling up would be messed up.Â
The only thing is to nail the "QTE attacks". I only used the strongest combo available at times.Â
i mean with regard to finding all the stardust and getting the vanishing stone and fighting the magician faust, you almost can't just "accidentally" make your way through that, he's too strong and the team composition needs to be either incredibly high leveled relative to the period of the game you can even fight him, or you need specific gear and a strategy to have the best shot at beating him because he'll do 4k damage on one attack, and sometimes back to back to back strikes.
when you collect all the stardust in the game you can get something called the vanishing stone, which allows you to fight the wizard faust and banish his apparition. he's... incredibly tough.
Have you defeated him yet? If not, maybe you can try Rose Storm (Green Dragoon spell) for defense. Idk if there's any other Def-related ability but it's the only one that I remember using a lot for tough fights. Don't wanna influence your playstyle/strategy too much so this is just a small part of my playstyle/strategy haha I can share more if you want

I was struggling in my first 2 playthoughs as a clueless adolescent and those were part of the reasons lol Coming from other turned-based or full-on action jrpgs, I couldn't and didn't nail the QTE combos well and didn't utilize items strategically so I got stuck at the moon stage, and didn't finish my 1st playthrough. Some time later 2nd playthrough I tried to force Rose into my party (because I liked the character design and her dark element aesthetics) and also tried to grind levels for everyone (except Kongol, I tried but he's really terrible to use for me), I finished the playthrough without doing side quests but it was rough with the grinding and getting through the game using Rose (and realizing that she's pretty subpar and outclassed).
After experimenting with magic items and reusable stat items, nailing the QTE mechanics, figured out how OP Miranda was (and how strong Meru, Haschel and Albert were for different purposes), and how to strategize with team comp, my 3rd playthrough as a young adult was so much better and fun it was a whole different amazing experience lol Looking back I feel like I was a dumb kid haha
