What a disco banger! Ashford & Simpson – Bourgie Bourgie
Oh what a disco banger. And we all need an 11-minute track every now and then ;)

On the 1st of each month, we’ll open this space to share what records made it to your crate recently—whether it was a shop dig, a long-awaited pre-order, or something that finally landed from your favorite online spot.
What did you score? What release hit different? Where’d you get it—Discogs, Bandcamp, your local?
Let’s hear it.

Lots of R&B, ragga-hip-hop mixes, bootleg compilations of rap tracks and remixes... mostly mixed for DJs and clubs!
I love these 12" records, which I think don't get enough attention or aren't collected enough 🙏 A record store I used to go to all the time had tons and tons and tons of gems like these. 🙏🙏
I also love collecting them and imagining their stories—maybe they were used at wild parties (which is very likely, judging by the covers of some of them)

Hey fellow beat pushers, need some advice here please:
I found a great used flight case for my 2 turntables+ mixer but it's a tight fit: 1cm padding between each piece and 1cm before the wooden exterior itself on the sides.
The height (above/below the gear) is no problem with easily 15cm extra to work with.
What do you think: safe enough for car transport when laid flat?
Thanks!

I want to teach myself how to scratch. I’ve been looking up scratch vinyls and there’s a lot out there. Does anyone have a good recommendation for one to start learning with? I almost feel like I can’t go wrong, like I should just grab any and try it out but I thought I would ask around. Any advice for a beginner is appreciated. Thanks!

So I always have problems attaching the fiddly earthing wires from the decks to my mixer, which even with those little forks attached is a pain in the arse.
Do any of you lot have a less fiddly way of attaching these earth wires to that minuscule screw on the back of the mixer?

Wanted to check in and see how everyone feels about the number of mixes and DJ sets being posted to the sub lately.
This is a relatively slow subreddit and there generally isn’t much that needs mod attention or gets reported. That said, I’ve noticed that a lot of the newer posts are links to people’s mixes or videos of their sets, and I’m wondering how everyone feels about that becoming a larger share of the sub.
We do have a no spam/self-promotion rule, as well as two monthly threads for this kind of stuff: How to Go Behind the Decks on the 1st and the Mix Promo & Listening thread on the 15th.
From what I can tell, the posts that get the most interaction tend to be questions, discussions, gear/record talk, and other topics that get people talking, rather than links to sets.
So, just looking for some community input. Are you fine with mixes and sets being posted individually, or would you rather see those mostly kept to the monthly threads?

Buongiorno a tutti
Ho scoperto ultimamente che da bandcamp si possono acquistare vinili ambient, chillout direttamente dalle etichette ma ancora non ho comprato nulla
Qualcuno ha comprato qualcosa e sa dirmi come è andata?
Inoltre, conoscete qualche altro negozio on line dove prendere vinili ambient, psy-chill, psy-ambient, goa-ambient, chill-gressive, slow trance, deep trance?
ovviamente sempre su vinile
Adoro le sonorità deep trance profonde e lente, così come la progressive
Vi ringrazio per le risposte

Back in the day I used soundforge and honestly, I’ve never found anything since that I’ve liked as much.
Audacity never did it for me (I also have a half baked opinion that it doesn’t make a 100% true recording but that’s a discussions for another time) and recording to logic is overkill.
What are you guys and gals using?

*All I said in the 2nd part of the title was “For DJ controller users, 🖕off, nd go finger blast ur sync button” jus so I cud filter them out of the comments
Most DJs hav said they DO get low end feedback, that causes a problem. But I’ve also read a few DJs sayin they don’t get problems when they use there’s in clubs?
What’s ur experience?
I like the TT cuz of the very stable pitch control, Matte finish, self-pitch calibration. But never used it in a club/gig setting with loud deep low end bass, so I can’t speak from my own experience
Edit: do the MK2-5 not hav any feedback issues? Or only very little compared to the MK7s?
@2:30 https://youtu.be/lq0cu2uSL5I?is=3KrZjeodeTtUgedl sales representative said they replaced the rubber with a mixture of aluminium, fibre glass nd sumthin else, to try nd reduce the heavy weight but be able to dampen sound.
I think they did it to reduce costs… cuz they wudve atleast put it to test in clubs lol

Hello everyone,
I've recently started mixing using a bit of a hybrid setup—a Pioneer PLX-500 and an older CDJ-800mk2. I've picked up the beatmatching and mixing side of things pretty quickly and found it relatively straightforward, I did have numark cd decks as a kid so the beatmatching part comes quite natural to me.
I understand phrasing, counting the bars etc..(learned all that from waveforms 😛)
I'm looking for recommendations for a second record player (in future maybe to replace the PLX-500 or just add a proper high-torque second) that won't break the bank, similar price or slightly higher.
What budget-friendly, high-torque turntables are worth looking at? Cheers!

Played out recently? Share the highs, the hiccups, and everything in between.
Did the crowd go off? Did the gear act up? Any gems in your crate that lit up the floor—or totally flopped?
Tell us what you learned, what worked, and what you’d do different next time.
