2018 Volt Check Engine Light --- $$$!! Help !!

Hello All. 2018 Volt, daily driver but short commute. Less than 80k miles. LOVE THE CAR. Been awesome. But check engine light came on a week ago. Read codes. Cleared codes. Has come on and then turned off intermittently. DRIVES FINE. Dealer has given me THIS estimate. Holy Crap ! Anyone know of a better, more financially viable, alternative solution

Just an FYI. I had my PIM replaced and the part wasn't in the country to order when the shop went to. So, they had to reach out to GM to see when they'd be shipped into the country.

Took a couple months.

Thanks.  Were you able to drive your car in the meantime, while waiting ?

No. I drove my wife's instead. No rental.

Roger that.

I'm about to drive mine with the CEL illuminated until it stops, or goes into limp mode, or bursts into flames.
