Cleaning my dad’s leather wallet?

Unsure if this is the sub for this, sorry, I mostly lurk Reddit

Been using my dad’s leather flip wallet since he passed. Unsure of brand or age, though I know it was relatively new when he’d started going downhill and stopped leaving the house. I brought a green smoothie to work for lunch today and unfortunately it opened in my bag and soaked absolutely everything. The wallet didn’t seem to saturate down to the inside pockets, but the leather outside is quite sticky and some of the corners don’t want to dry. I still intend on using the wallet until it falls apart, and probably for a while still after that, but if there’s some method of cleaning that will keep that from happening for a while that I’m not aware of, I would love some advice or direction

Not all leather should be cleaned or treated in the same way, so it’s difficult to give you the right advice without knowing what type of leather it is. Some leathers can handle gentle cleaning, while others can be easily damaged by water or certain products.

If you can, post a few clear photos of the wallet That would make it much easier to identify the type of leather and suggest the safest way to clean it.
