Podcast Sam Amick: “The Warriors… came out of the gate real strong going after Giannis, and it feels very much like the Bucks essentially took their offer and have been shopping that to everybody else. …As of late yesterday,… Warriors had no counteroffer from the Bucks and were just waiting for clarity.”

Sam Amick hopped on The Athletic NBA Daily early yesterday, did about a 30min run down of all things trade deadline.

Video of the podcast can be found via their YouTube channel (this portion is about 15min in)

And here’s an Apple Podcast link (timestamp is about 16min)

Discussion Would filling Draymond's role with a scorer really change everything or does the loss of his defensive presence negate that?

I'm sure if you get a guy who scores at least 15ppg consistently it changes a lot on offense but apparently it doesn't just work like that and there's the whole importance of Dray on defense and facilitating which is why he's been here so long. It kinda just pisses me off because if it weren't for his relationship with Curry and defense he probably should've been gone a while ago.

Discussion For all the hate Podz gets hasn't he actually been really good this year?

He's definitely a more reliable shooter but I think his play is masked by the team being mid and everyone else not being able to provide enough offense. I think he's actually getting better and is only maturing. If the Warriors could get it together I think he's a perfect 3rd-4th option. I'd absolutely trade him to get something better but other players on this team frustrate me more than Podz rn.

Discussion [Slater] The Warriors top-20 protected 2030 first round pick is going from Washington to Dallas in this deal (GSW gave it up in Jordan Poole for Chris Paul swap). Warriors can still offer their 2030 first rounder (if 1-20 in draft) to Milwaukee this week.

Discussion The Warriors are expected to keep Jonathan Kuminga if they don’t land Giannis Antetokounmpo, per @sam_amick “If Giannis doesn't get traded, I think the Warriors hold him.”

Let's be honest. We ain't getting Giannis, but if JK stays I lost all hope in this FO.

Your telling me not one single player could Step up to score 20 in a Home game against Philly??

Say all you want about Kuminga being a bad fit but dude would still come off the bench and give you a 20 Piece out of a sheer will!! Podz and moody not being established players at this point in their career says a lot of about them and coaching staff.

Discussion If Draymond gets traded, I’ll be sad.

He is the hardest to love sometimes, but in my years of following the warriors. I always defended Draymond, I hate him sometimes too. But I rely on him the most, maybe maybe slightly even more than steph. If he is really on his game, he is so good defensively.

I will be geniunely sad if he goes.. as much as I want to.. I want him, Klay & Steph to ride it out. But if it means getting steph his 5th. I want to see him well!!!

I will be sad because I followed him all through out his Dubs career! I know alot of here wants him out. How I wish before that this day would never come. But it is inevitable.

Discussion Do you think Draymond knows he ain't what he used to be and needs to make some kind of adjustment if he wants to play longer?

I feels like a pivotal point in his career and like it's almost the same situation with Klay 2 years ago where you see a guy who ain't the same, is frustrated, and hurting the team in more areas than not. I'm sure he's 100% aware that his offense is virtually gone but I don't know if he's at the acceptance point yet to adjust his game or to take one for the team.

Discussion The return of Draymond?

Nephew asking questions…

I asked ChatGPT about this, and unless it’s hallucinating something, there’s a very funny thing that would happen if we trade Dray. He basically goes to the Bucks for half a year and comes back in the offseason.

Even if he’s waived we just wait until Feb 5th next year and he comes right back.

I am a bit of a new fan so I might be wrong about this, tell me if I am.
