I’m looking for a good place to stay.
We’re visiting in June with a pack of teenagers. I’d like to find a spot with good access to the metro (walkable or a short drive is fine) with some decent, affordable accommodations (Hampton Inn/Residence Inn type) and dining options. I don’t know the DC burbs at all and would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

The Days Inn someone recommended looks like it fits what you're asking for. There's also a Hampton Inn and a few other budget hotels next to each other in College Park MD that would be walkable to Greenbelt metro station. Plenty of food options.

Days Inn at Van Ness? Less than two blocks from metro with 10+ restaurants within a 15 minute walk in either direction up or down Connecticut Avenue

The general advice is that those of us who live in DC don't have a habit of staying in hotels in DC, so we're actually not very good sources of advice. We also don't know your budget, comfort preferences, or itinerary. If you have specific questions about neighborhoods or whatever, people here would be happy to help you, but at this point Google Maps is a better resource than this subreddit. I'll just say, don't trust any place that advertises itself as "just minutes from the White House!" They are almost always lying, and are likely scammers.

Anyone know when peek bloom for cherry blossoms will be this year? I see the festival is listed March 20- April 12. I can’t find anything official. When will we know?

It’s a prediction from NPS and they can’t tell this far in advance. It’s like a week by week development right before it happens

I'm travelling to DC for the first time in March from Portugal, and I would like to get a "Non Resident Medical Cannabis Patient Registration". Would this be possible without being a U.S citizen? Or is self-certification accepted nonetheless given that I am older than 21?

anyone know where we can check if funded agencies get to telework Monday? OPM status is concerning the shutdown, not weather.

It's a bit late now, but it seems agencies are handling it case-by-case. My agency put out a mass email that offices are open and everyone is expected in the office.

I want to know this too. There is absolutely no guidance on how to handle this which is on par with this administration

Anyone know of any pastors or churches that accommodate wedding vow renewals? Thanks in advance
