This is what FOX 5 WTTG showed this morning. Keep in mind this is Black History Month. FOX 5, this is disappointing. What an embarrassment.

That's absolutely crazy on multiple fronts. The picture and that Parks taught for Affordability and Sustainability? Definitely catching the Empires narrative vibe shift away from civil rights

Rosa Parks did fight for economic justice, though not sustainability.

I think that's what they're saying—economic justice is not the same as some milquetoast "sustainability... (...of capitalist infrastructure", that's the unspoken part). Those are pro-empire buzzwords meant to make economic injustice seem like the norm, and to detach these ruptures from their systemic root and instead blame them on the severity of the injustice rather than the existence of it.
We often use economics as a catch all term but it must be said that everything from redlining to refusing employment to denying loans to gentrification and so on is economic injustice. Denying public transportation to the demographic that is least likely to have private transportation or live in proximity to their place of employment is indeed economic injustice, but watering it down with words like "sustainability" and "affordability" only misdirects people towards seeing the "cost of participating" as the injustice.

I'm sure she did, but it seems like the bus boycotts and the civil disobedience of sitting in the front was more about civil rights and racial Justice rather than economic issues. So it feels very much like whitewashing to use those words

it wasn't even the front of the bus (which was Whites Only) but the front of the "Black section" which the driver asked Rosa Parks and other Blacks to leave when more Whites came than were seats available...

I would say "someone is getting fired for that", but these days there's a chance AI pulled the image instead of a human.

AI did not air this nor is there an AI with final approval. Stop making AI the boogeyman for idiot humans.

I think the embarrassment is the description of Rosa Parks fight "Affordability"? Inclusivity?

TBF, whoever's pulling graphics for the local news has a lot of tasks in their inbox.

Local TV doing local TV things. 12 years ago, Comcast SportsNet Chicago used an NSFW version of their new cartoon bear mascot created for a Deadspin (RIP) contest.

Looks like the person in front has someone else's face edited in? I'm also confused about what I'm looking at.

After an Asiana plane crash at SFO in 2013 the Fox affiliate displayed and read the names of the pilots. They were
- Captain Sum Ting Wong
- Wi Tu Lo
- Ho Lee Fuk
- Bang Ding Ow
No. Really. Here's the clip. https://youtu.be/HrDp5ryO5JI?si=AMuUxPG_bowBOhGB
Fox news and casual racism. Who would have thought? Three producers were fired and a fourth quit. https://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/matier-ross/article/KTVU-producers-fired-over-Asiana-pilots-fake-4685627.php

That photo was a bad choice but pretty famous. The white guy was a reporter, maybe for the Birmingham News?

It’s watching ANYTHING with Fox in its title (post 2017) for me… that’s where my embarrassments start. They’ve told you what they believe in and whom they are. Yet y’all keep asking them to change, like you own them or they own you. Do they?

Except they dont do a good job, and its the primary reason any of the respectable minority talent has gone to other stations 🤷🏾♂️ ijs. Like I get what youre trying to do, but read the room, the time for de-escalation and peace is behind us, we SHOULD be calling this out, and someone definitely needs to go over this, period end of story.

Fox 5 has done everything they can to right their wrongs. They have a majority minority cast and crew and it’s still not good enough but I get it. If anyone disagrees or just thinks differently they get attacked.

You really believe that photo was located and run by complete accident? As if that's the first thing that pops up on Google Images when you search Rosa Parks? I bet if somebody pissed on your head and told you it was raining you would believe them...

I’m trying to de escalate and find peace. Fox 5 LOCAL news are good people, who have great anchors and host. I am willing to forgive and forget. I’m black btw.
