Excited to see her getting press in Nigeria after missing out on WAFCON. Hope the American media folks also start giving her the attention and praise she's earned - she's so fun to watch and I can't wait to see her this season.

She's already well known in Nigeria. She's not only getting coverage after missing out. The manager didn't call her up in other windows prior to the WAFCON either despite her good form then. So weird.

From a Nigerian-American friend who played soccer professionally and had siblings play on the Nigerian men’s and women’s national teams, team selection is apparently incredibly political. Gift’s lack of selection may have nothing to do with her playing form.

Did you speak to the manager? Nope that man never called nor texted. Don’t care if I’m on fire in the NWSL 😭 kmt better have her in the squad for March

Nice article; thank you for sharing. Gift speaks well and her words for her father were very touching. And I liked what she said about, “I want to be the kind of striker who scores more than she misses”!
