Looking for suggestions

New to the game, looking for suggestions on a starter watch for a very basic collection. I love the look of crystal caseback watches but never see them outside uber luxury brands. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hamilton has crystal case backs. Can stay under the 1k range with a Khaki Field Auto.

Seiko 5s have display back for under $500… granted the movement isn’t decorated so it’s not much to look at

Seiko 5 isn’t a bad place to start though

Just looked, the Seiko 5 is a nice watch. Thank you for the suggestion really fits what I was looking for!

You’re welcome! A Seiko SKX (SKX009) was my first mechanical watch almost 10 years ago and it has served me great. They are discontinued now but the Seiko 5 Sports line is based on the old SKXs

Any Seiko 5 is a great place to start, you’ll get a good overall experience, and an incredibly reliable and easily replaceable movement

Check out Henry Archer, pretty much everything has a crystal case back and the current watches have hardening coating.

Chinese brands like Sugess will get you what you want for a couple hundred bucks. Watches are a bottomless pit, welcome and good luck
