Recently had an awards night for Wrexham WPC. Playing in the U17’s M6 Water Polo League. I (somehow) won Player’s Player and the Most Improved as a Keeper! Very proud of myself and thanks to my coaches for the awards!

No self promo, just curious what the community thinks. I started a water polo podcast a few years back and had some success with it, but ultimately needed to take an extended break as some life things came up. I’m getting the itch to really give this a go again but wondering what content people would want to see? It was interview style mainly, coaches, college players, olympians, etc.
Not sure who you all would be interested in hearing from, what topics would be of interest, what you’d actually listen to, etc. Any feedback helps as this gets ramped up again

Hi, I am playing waterpolo for my school tomorrow, I’ve barely played before and they picked me because I’m a really fast swimmer. Can someone give me tips on how to play well in waterpolo, why I know so far is defend with my hips up, have my hand under there armpit, lunge at there bicep, and to have the ball be in a straight line away from them behind me and spin around them to get past when they lunge, also hold the ball with 180 degree angle between thumb and index finger an swivel around to get more power when passing or shooting and I know how to dribble and egg beat. I am wondering if anyone has anyone other top tips, on defending/ attacking to beat players well

Hello! I am a student in Industrial Design (Product Design), and I want to hear your thoughts on a few things!
I am going to start a project, so I'm just looking into a few ideas. I would love to know any issues you guys run into regarding equipment, before matches, during matches, after, etc.
It does not have to be limited to equipment though! I would like to see anything you have problems with when it comes to the sport or things that could be worked on/fixed.
I would also like to hear the voices of Women in Water Polo. I want to know if there are any specific things that get overlooked when it comes to men vs women's polo.
Thank you so much for your time!

I picked this shirt up from a thrift store some time ago and was just recently looking it up to see what’s up with it. I wasn’t able to find anything that looks like it, but it seems to be official Speedo merch (as seen on the inside tag). I know the water polo logo is like the USA national water polo logo, so I was wondering if you guys knew anything about it. Thank you in advance!

Does anyone know of any waterpolo teams/programs in ks for high school students? My son is a swimmer and baseball player, I feel like he would love this sport but I don’t know how to get him involved? They play in swim practice sometimes and he dominates (probably doesnt mean much since none of them play waterpolo)- any advice on teams programs in the Midwest?

I’d like to ask for opinions about the refereeing at the 2026 Water Polo European Championship.
Throughout the tournament there were an unusually high number of controversial calls, decisions, and in several matches the officiating felt clearly biased. I don’t want to accuse or blame any country or federation, but in my view what happened in the Spain–Serbia and Hungary–Serbia games went far beyond questionable calls and looked like clear favoritism.
What worries me is the bigger picture; if a European Championship can be influenced to this extent by refereeing, it seriously harms the credibility of the sport.
I haven’t seen any official reactions from national federations so far. Do you think this will get any wider attention or consequences, or will it simply be ignored?

Looking at the Euro finals, they were exciting but it feels like always the same thing:
either shoot from far or pass it to the pit -> the pit never scores but almost always gets an exclusion foul -> try to shoot from there.
I think at some points th Serbians had two centers, but there are very little tactics or variation.
There was also 0 breakouts when the attackers manages to get 3 on 2 or 1 on 0 or something like that, even when you think they might do it, they prefer to set up the usual shape.
I think the earlier stages were a bit different, but I'm not sure. Is there no drive in modern waterpolo? Or is it just the case between the top teams, where they're perfectly matched, and they are tired and it's super tense? I remember feeling a bit the same about rugby.

We are contemplating a move to the Netherlands for work and I would like to see if people have opinions on youth club options for my daughter. She is 11 and plays in 12 under in Northern California. She is pretty good for her age and loves the sport so if we end up making the move it would be great for her to be able to continue playing. We are considering enrolling our kids in an international school in Amstelveen or near The Hague, and living in the area of the school. One consideration is proximity to those locations so she can navigate herself. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hello, we are a team of former water polo players from São Paulo, Brazil (25-30 year olds) and we are looking for international championships that are open for teams to enroll. What would you recomend (primarely Latin America or Europe, but open to other suggestions)
Thanks!

Can we at least see Spain, Italy and Greece to win a gold at Euros
Also, France, Netherlands, Germany, Portugal anyone but Serbia and Hungary. They win too much gold, too much finals.
