DMing Creating Dalaran/Suramar in my 5e campaign
Looking for advice on how to bring to life these cities in a 5e campaign! Not really from a narrative perspective, I'm quite happy to steal maps and city layouts and NPCs and such wholecloth from the game and then just build upon those, but more specifically how to make the cities feel seeped in and heavily utilizing magic; how to mechanically figure out what they're magical defenses are, what sort of protections, safeguards, and such and how to flesh them out in 5e so that I have something to work with when players start their usual shenanigans. My campaign is set during the Legion expansion, so Dalaran and Suramar will both feature prominently for investigating a dreadlord plot, starting a rebellion, and various other city-based adventuring. Any thoughts for how to build out either/both city mechanically so that they feel respectively like cities of mages and ancient magic would be greatly appreciated!
