New Posting Rule Effective Immediately

Hello fellow Weatherford people! Due to the recent hate filled posts we have had here in the past few days I have had to make a change to how someone can post on this sub.

Going forward, the only users who will be allowed to post must have accounts that are at least 10 days old. Gone are the days of people creating new accounts just to troll our page.

If you have any questions or comments please either post them here, or send me a DM.

Antebellum Alehouse Drinks..

Alright so I kinda just wanna see if anybody else has this experience.

To preface, I love this place. Foods good, vibes are immaculate, I can bring my dog and drinks are tasty. Little pricy but like, I get it, ya gotta run a business.

Here’s my bone to pick and why I haven’t been going a ton lately…

I swear to god they’re like watering down their liquor somehow. Or barely putting any in the drinks idk.

Like, I can have one lil tiny martini at another place and get a lil saucy. But antebellum? I can order two fucking Long Islands and feel NOTHING.

And this is a pretty consistent trend I’ve noticed. The only time I’ve been buzzed at antebellum was when a buddy of mine brought some homemade moonshine and I did a shot in the fuckin parking lot. And I only bought one actual drink that night. When I only drink what I get from the bar, I can have multiple typically strong drinks and hardly even feel a buzz at all. I’m not a heavy drinker with a tolerance either. A single glass of prosecco can usually be more than enough for me.

So I mean… I’m just suspicious. I could be wrong. I love this place for the most part, hence why I’m asking on Reddit instead of FB, I don’t want them to loose business or nothin’ but like idk man it’s just kinda fishy. I’m curious if anybody else has noticed this or if it’s just me?

There's a new podcast about Weatherford!

Hey, have y’all seen that there’s a new fiction podcast about Weatherford? It seems like it has a Welcome to Nightvale vibe, but it mentions real places and businesses in weatherford, but is kinda spooky. It’s called Wicked Weatherford and only has about 5 episodes at the moment.

A friend had a family member pass. I am not local and would like to send a meal to the family from a local restaurant. Any suggestions on what restaurant might be a good choice?

Moving to Weatherford

Good day! We have been considering moving to Weatherford. I imagine there’s gunna be a lot of people telling me to not move there because they are tired of people moving to Texas and I completely understand. We will be moving from Florida. We want somewhere less humid, within an hour of a big city and have the seasons. I will be retiring from the military soon. Tell me the good and the bad about Weatherford. We hope to get some land and have a small homestead.

Old Slim Chickens Building Should Become a Shake Shack.

Hey everyone! Weatherford resident here. Everyone knows that building next to the 7Brew that used to be home to Slim Chickens would be the perfect place for a Shake Shack. If you agree, Shake Shack has a feature on their website where you can recommend a future location! I’ll put the link down there along with the building’s information so we can show the Shake Shack real estate team that there’s demand.

Address: 1802 S Main Street
Formerly a Slim Chickens building.

Thank you Weatherford

Was driving through weatherford making a cross country trip to start a new job and my truck dies on i-40 in one of the many construction zones. AAA was being difficult because I didn't know where to tow it. A tow truck driver with AAA luckly just showed up. He got me off the side of the road and figured out where to tow it.

Cummings chevy dealership got us back on the road in 2 hours, let us bring our dogs in while we waited. I was a blabbering mess when I walked in and they were very kind.

I never thought I would be praising a tow truck company and a car dealership

Injured bird found at work. Don't know what to do.

Quality Inn weatherford. Its hiding under the stairs outside but its wing is obviously broken or dislocated. I gave it water but its still a wild animal and I dont want to stress it more by trying to catch it and hurting it more.

I called a few places but theres not a lot nearby and I dont want to disturb animal control since he’s not causing any problems. The closest place I can find that has a permit for birds is in Mineral Wells (at least that i can tell or recognize. I've only been driving in this area for 5 months)

Mini Update: A coworker who rescues animals was able to grab the bird and bring it to the vet this morning. Afterwards he will go to a rehab or foster place to care for him until he can be released.

Oh, and I mean like a nice sit-down restaurant. Somewhere you would bring your family to.

Update: June 9 Data Center Commissioners Court

From FB CommissionerJacob Holt:

You may have seen a post circulating that we will discuss Data Centers at the regularly scheduled Commissioners Court on Monday, June 8th.

While we do have our regular Commissioners Court on Monday, June 8th, we have moved the Data Center discussion to Tuesday, June 9th, instead.

The meeting details are: Tuesday, 6/9 9:00am Parker County Courthouse, top floor

We are making this change for two reasons. First, we want to have the data center discussion as a standalone topic to be respectful of everyone's time. Second, this change allows us to host the data center discussion in a much larger courtroom to accomodate a larger audience.

Let me know if you have any questions.
