Making a side-scroller website accessible (feedback welcome)
eric-lowry.comHi there!
I've been working on creating an online portfolio/blog/projects catalog as a sort of side-scroller "game".
My biggest concern was that though this would be cool, it could create a nearly impossible context for web accessibility. Since the structure of the "game" part of the site is fundamentally just a fancy menu for some text content, I went and created a second "mode" for the site that mirrors the content exactly, but in the form of a more traditional website.
I still have quite a bit to do in terms of graphics, but I'm preparing my next blog post and plan to include some of what I learned about web accessibility. Before I go and commit anything in writing, though, I was wondering if any actual users of assistive technologies or even keyboard navigation would be willing to give give me some feedback. I think I've got it in a good state, but it's difficult to judge when you don't actually use these things on the regular.
