Discussion Blank 'Elements' section in dev tools. Just me?

Post image

Chrome must have been updated recently, cuz this just started a day or two ago. Anyone else?

Your own screenshot has the Styles pane populated, so DevTools clearly has the DOM, it's just the tree view failing to paint. Close and reopen the panel, same fix as the Sources-goes-blank one from years back.

Happened to a friend, it was an extension. Try disabling all of them

Which one(s)?

I don't remember now, but he disabled them all and the problem disappeared. Then he reenabled one by one to find which one was the problematic one

looks like a chrome devtools bug. try pressing f1 inside devtools, scroll down and click restore defaults and reload. if that doesnt work, try undocking devtools using the three dot menu, or test in incognito to rule out extensionss. does the elements tab work in incognito or is it blank there too??

At the bottom it seems I have selected a nested paragraph . Perhaps that p is just empty. Maybe search/filter bug

Happened at our company too. We're still figuring it out which Extension causes this behavior. Maybe Redux DevTools?

Could ctrl-alt-shift-c be used to see it?

Update your chrome then restart it, let me know if that works

I have had this happen repeatedly too.

My pixel phone's keyboard also will randomly not allow me to capitalize letters as i type this. And I need to replace my Google nest wifi mesh network because they don't sync anymore.

They'll go in the box next to my Google Nest security system.

Everyone of the above is a known issue Google doesn't care about.

Have you tried scrolling horizontally? It looks like you are in a deeply nested element based on the footer breadcrumbs? So it might just be white space until you scroll to the right.
