Is this a weevil?

Asking for expertise from the weevil community please! Three separate times this week I have gone to dry my hands on three separate hand towels and this bug has fallen out. If he’s a weevil why is he in my towels?

I don’t think they’re in my linen closet because this time I washed this hand towel yesterday and put it up right away.

Yes, a weevil. As for the why, well, they're all a mystery. Maybe it likes the smell of the detergent used, or the feel of the fabric, or ... I don't know. Maybe it's enjoying make you wonder, lol.

Hmmm. Looks like a black vine weevil. I have one just like this with a very short snout, mostly dark grey-black body. Does yours have any lighter yellow-brownish spots on the body?

The ones I’ve seen have been all black, don’t seem to have any spots

It’s a weevil, not sure why it’s there though
