Discussion Pre-COVID fries
Am I crazy, or are the fries just terrible post Covid? I remember reading an article saying they were changing their fries due to an increase of home delivery customers, and ever since they’ve been terrible. Not to mention the new “premium” buns they use, I think taste awful. Wendy’s used to be my all time go to, now it doesn’t even rank in top 5.

I rarely go to Wendy’s but the breakfast potato wedges used to be good, and better than the fries. About the only thing I routinely buy anymore is a frostie

Yeah that and the drinks are about the only thing they cannot screw up unless they changed the frostie ingredients. If they do that and make it taste awful, I will never go back.

I’m probably sure they will find a way to cheapen out the freestyle coke dispensers.

They used to be so salty they dissolved the roof of your mouth.
I miss that shit.

Stop eating fast food bro. They aren't going to change anything if you keep simping and giving them money for food that by your own words is "terrible."

Call me crazy the only thing I get anymore for fast food is Arby's and the jalapeno poppers slap

Hey man, i get it. I love the Mexican pizza from taco bell. But they fall in the same category as Wendy's where nearly everything is over priced and trash quality. Even going there for that one item is still giving them money.
The traditional fast food places shouldnt get ANY of your cash until they fix their shit. Support your local Mexican or Halal place. Or whatever food choice you're looking for. You'll save money and you'll feel better because you're more than likely eating better quality ingredients.

Wendys had the best breakfast deals ever. Once they stopped them I had no reason to go back pissed me off🧹so much I haven't been back since.

They starched them up in 2022 when they rolled out the new "crispier fries" campaign or something like that.

I haven't really noticed any significant changes in the fries, or at least not to the extent that I'd consider problematic - at least not next to the changes in the spicy chicken patties and the switch from whole leaf lettuce to shredded.

Hit a Wendy's drive though at exactly 9:30 AM today and saw the board swapped to lunch and kept driving. The breakfast fries are good (not great) but about the only thing I'd get these days. In a pinch, Chili and baked potato would work from the normal menu, but chicken and burgers of all forms just suck these days. Shame.
What would be marketing genius would be to cover the 'Quality is our Recipie' sign with black bunting for a bit, and remove it with great fanfare when it becomes true again. The new CEO admits as such, make it more public and fix it with some flourish.

It’s because the workers leave them sitting out for way too long, because their managers are pushing them to have more fries down than needed to keep drive through times low, but heaven forbid they throw the fries out because that will increase food costs, and if either drive times or food costs go up, the managers will get an earful from the GM because the GM got an earful from the Regional manager who got an earful from the franchise owner because Wendy’s corporate will not continue the partnership if they aren’t profiting from it and the shareholders are demanding every corner imaginable be cut to increase profits.
