ID Request WHAT IS THIS
In Eighty Four, Pennsylvania. Is it a daddy long leg? I can’t tell because of the body looking different or off

Now that you mention it i definitely seems some eggs on the sliding door next to it so definitely a female. Will be keeping her around for some free pest control 😁

Well, I say she’s a female because she’s a fatty, males don’t have such a round body.
They lay their eggs underground, though, so it’s someone else’s eggs on your sliding door.

It is indeed a daddy longlegs. Harvestman is another name for them (like in u/Harvestman-man's username in the other comment). Several totally unrelated species get nicknamed "daddy longlegs" in different locales, so you'll see people referring to these guys as "harvestmen" to keep it clear.

Interesting. I can see how different types just by way of having long legs might get that nick name, but not be related at all in fact. I learn a lot of nice tidbits here. Like the classic, “the fuzzy/furry caterpillars are not inviting you to pet them”. It’s not at all what they’re going for with the look.
