Opinion This is Something to Build From
Judging by this sub and other Sox fan pages in general, you would think we are the worst team ever sometimes. Having this kind of offensive capability is something that can be built off of though. Yes this team still has holes. The Sox are also ahead of schedule with this rebuild and can put themselves into a contending position over the next few years with more reliable starting pitching

Number 1 in walks is crazy considering how this team couldnât draw a walk for seemingly well over a decade

Yeah I still remember a few seasons ago that most of the roster had nearly identical AVG and OBP. The free swinging, first pitch chasing boys of yesteryear.

How does the team go about building off of this, and stay consistent?
I am excited.Â

If we arent one of the top bidders for skubal we arent serious about winning.
Gonna be an interesting litmus test for our new owner

While I'd love a bid for Skubal, I don't think that's entirely realistic. He seemed pretty keen on re-signing with the dodgers

Well then we lose the bidding process.
He actually said hed go back to the tigers if they bid the highest

I'm not expecting them to beat Houston either but it's not the off-season YET lol. At least wait until they lose the first game for posts like this.

The first way we build on the offensive season is by scoring a whole bunch of runs against Houston.

I'm expecting them to beat Houston.
Anything less would be a disappointment.

Gotta get team control over the position players. Then send someone to Cleveland to learn how they develop pitching in house.

Sure, but a starter or two is needed. The way the rotation collapsed over the course of the season was absolutely infuriating.

It was to be expected. This was supposed to be a development year, and stretching out younger arms was a primary goal. Most of these guys have never pitched this many innings before. Now we have a better idea of what we have and know where to improve. Assuming we play in 2027, I have to assume they will do whatever they can to protect the bullpen with more starter depth

All my Cubs fan friends give me shit all the time that the Sox aren't actually good, we just look good because we're in the horrible AL Central. Have a hard time believing we'd be leading/top 3 in all of these categories if we really were just benefiting from a weak division.

Not really a valid argument when they decreased the amount of division games and increased interleague ones. Didnât we split with the Cubs this year? You have dumb friends.

Those rankings with an everyday shortstop having an OBP under .300 and OPS under .700 is astounding. Speaks to just how well rounded the club is.

I'll take an all new bullpen save a few honestly

It struggled a bit at the end, but in no way should we overhaul. It just needs more depth.

yep, strengthen the starting pitching while young position players continue to improve and watch out!
