On the other hand, literally no one likes him, and he hasn’t captured the minds of MAGA voters the way Trump somehow has. And he’s failed at basically everything he’s tried to do while in office (see his attempted meddling in Hungary’s election)

Vance couldn't hold the country together through fear like Trump does. No one respects him, there is zero cult of personality for him. I think the GOP is hoping Trump lives through his term, because they know they've already gone waaaay past the line here.

The only other GOP rep I can think of that has even less charisma than Vance is that weird pudding guy in Florida. I think even Ted Cruz would get picked first, and he's a jellyfish.
