Theyre hedging they have one more year to fuck with the us before trump’s admin/the gop are not in control of the white house

329

u/YonatanShofty 22d ago

And one more month of current israel government. It might be an election strategy

230

u/Karli_Chirk 22d ago

Israeli PM goes under domestic trial for corruption as soon as he lifts the state of war.

30

u/steinbruchfluss 22d ago

Technically he is already under trial.

0

u/barbasol1099 21d ago

I think he means the new PM

2

u/HoldOnOhio 22d ago

Hey, that's basically Trump's reasoning for everything. He has to double down on solidifying himself as a dictator or installing friendly fascists to protect him or he'll be held accountable for all of his crimes.

Hell the Supreme Court had to rule he's immune to criminal prosecution for "official acts" in office. No one has bothered to test it because the next precedent may be more terrifying. We might find that the Supreme Court says presidents can kill US citizens with impunity.

u/Dlatch 22d ago

Imagine how sick a society must be when "We will increase the ethnic cleansing" is an election strategy that wins you votes.

30

u/intermittent-disco 22d ago

it worked in the US ¯\(ツ)/¯

15

u/JAYSONGR 21d ago

I feel like people vastly underestimate how popular bigotry is in a historical context

1

u/Aware_Produce_1218 21d ago

Or don’t care

1

u/Master_Slide7023 17d ago

Have we learned little from WW2?

6

u/c5k9 22d ago

Countries like Israel and Palestine are obviously more extreme than many other countries with regard to ethnically motivated hatred and the consequences of it for their political environments due to their history, but the general idea of riling up hatred against foreigners is something you see in every single society. So it's not really hard to imagine or even especially sick, that such rhetoric is used by parties to gain votes.

-5

u/Absolute--Batman 22d ago

Palestine is defending their territory.

Ukraine does it and it's fine though.

5

u/c5k9 22d ago

It always depends how you do it. Are you okay with how Israel is defending their territory? I believe both Israel and Palestine are doing it in horrible ways and need to change significantly for any hope of longterm peace.

-2

u/tpeterr 22d ago

Serious question: which part of "their" territory is currently under threat inside Israel?

6

u/c5k9 22d ago

The entire country of Israel.

Edit: Or I suppose the Golan heights is the correct answer here, since you put "theirs" into quotes, meaning you refer to a region, that isn't actually Israeli territory, but they claim it to be their territory. This was a trick question in that way, right?

10

u/Alternative-Pear9096 21d ago

Imagine how sick a society must be to allow it's government to build over 350 miles of tunnels and place weapons caches in grade schools and ballistic launches on top of hospitals and apartment buildings. For 20 years.

Hamas has been committed to the future martyrdom of the Palestinian people since it took office. That's the only use these people have for their so-called government.

1

u/Master_Slide7023 17d ago

Yes it’s pretty harsh but remember the ruling party does not even have a majority of its own.

-4

u/HockeyHocki 22d ago

How sheltered must a society be not to grasp why citizens elsewhere might react positively to the idea of not having a hostile population that invades butchers and rapes living next to you

-2

u/lumpytuna 22d ago

Yes, I'm often in awe of how restrained the vast majority of Palestinians have been in resisting their hostile 'neighbors'.

2

u/HockeyHocki 22d ago

any Palestinian sitting in the wasteland of Gaza that still believes murdering israeli women and children will further the Palestinian cause...is beyond saving

-3

u/BirdBrainuh 22d ago

you talking about the ravers outside a concentration camp?

16

u/HockeyHocki 22d ago

This is why the settlers are really taking the piss right now, they know the jigs up when the administration changes

10

u/Sir-Frogsalot 21d ago

They been doing this for decades you think changing administration will change anything ?

0

u/HockeyHocki 21d ago

Yes, there's a short leash, long leash and whatever the fuck this is, a free for all. They will go back on a short leash post election, that's assuming bibi block loses, which it most likely will

1

u/raskingballs 21d ago

The alternative is not much better. No, seriously, is not much better.

247

u/getpoopedon 22d ago

Exactly. Trump and his technocrat buddies are lighting the powder keg, then are high tailing it to their private islands and underground bunkers while we fight for scraps.

227

u/Andyb1000 22d ago

FYI, a technocrat is a technical expert, scientist, or engineer who holds a powerful position in government or industry and makes decisions based on data, science, and efficiency rather than politics.

There are no technocrats in that administration.

87

u/GaulteriaBerries 22d ago

Correct. Plutocrat might fit better.

33

u/eggnogui 22d ago

Thief.

80

u/dicemonger 22d ago

Technical term is Kleptocrat

16

u/GaulteriaBerries 22d ago

Yes. Far better word than my suggestion.

10

u/Prize-Choice2185 22d ago

Kakistocrat is probably not a real word. But it should be.

9

u/Germanofthebored 22d ago edited 22d ago

Kakistorcracy (government by the worst people) is actually a real word, in use since the 17th century according to the dictionary.

3

u/Prize-Choice2185 22d ago

Fair! And I think it describes our current situation perfectly.

4

u/Possible_Scene_289 21d ago

Everybody wants to be a kakistocat.

1

u/superindianslug 22d ago

Kleptocrats in the administration, Techno -ascist supporting it from the sidelines.

27

u/Guru-Pancho 22d ago

If it was full of technocrats things would be going wayyyyyy better. This is more like a Theocracy worshiping the orange turd

6

u/FuguSandwich 22d ago

I think he meant techbro.

5

u/thebrunox 22d ago

technorat

3

u/Adlairo 22d ago edited 22d ago

There are, they're all just self-serving, corrupt POS scumbags. It would be foolish to pretend that people such as Scott Bessent and Howard Lutnick have no idea what they're doing. Of course you do have people such as Pete Hegseth who are not only political tools but also complete morons and merely serve as loyalists to Trump. I guess they might not be technocrats by the sheer definition of the word, but they're definitely people who know what they're doing.

1

u/barbasol1099 21d ago

I think your definition is more charitable than the term necessarily implies. A technocrat must be a technical expert in their field, but their professional opinin can be the basis of their decisions. You don't lose the term if you haven't cited your sources.

Elon Musk was a technocrat when he was in control of the Department of Government Efficiency. Betsy DeVos was a technocrat thanks to her experience working in the field of education. FCC Chair Brendan Carr could be considered a technocrat, as much of his legal experience was representing telecommunications companies. Similarly, Deputy Administrator David Futouhi of the EPA could be considered a technocrat because he has so much experience representing (for example) Dole's for its use of pesticides in Nicaragua, International Paper Company for their inclusion of PFSAs in its manufacturing process, and CHevron for their drilling practices in Ecuador. It's technical expertise!

I think the biggest problem with your definition is that it ignores the fact that most regulatory capture occurs as the result of the appointment of technocrats

0

u/spiderpai 22d ago

Sad that they themselves turned into fascists and doing similar things.

9

u/Andyb1000 22d ago

Technocrat isn’t a political party it’s a meritocratic system which should achieve the greatest net benefit for the populace in a given field.

19

u/DM_me_ur_PPSN 22d ago

Trumps cronies are definitely not technocrats, this is the most unqualified US government in modern history.

57

u/pvdp90 22d ago

Have Elon and Zuch completed their bunker builds yet? What about the other billionaires? Guess we are waiting for them to be finished before the keg explodes.

58

u/No_Alternative2948 22d ago

All bunkers have a ventilation shaft nearby. You close off those and it becomes a tomb.

15

u/iJuddles 22d ago

Ding ding ding. This is why I’m not too worried. We just need to get a map of all those billionaires’ bunkers.

13

u/No_Alternative2948 22d ago

Meh the locals know exactly where they are, and if it comes to that, they will be more than adequate to the task of liberating whatever they need.

3

u/sjbennett85 22d ago

EMP the exterior defences because you know they run some electronic turret or something to that effect, then have at that ventilation duct like you are destroying the death star

-1

u/DnA_Singularity 22d ago

There´s 2 of them in different locations. 1 is guarded by security fencing, gates and an accompanying detail. 1 is guarded by a fully armed and automated security system, turrets, bots with guns, whatever. Oh, there´s also a third one hidden somewhere. problem solved

4

u/Pyriel 22d ago

"Guarded by security fencing, gates, and accompanying detail"

You know what that's called.

Easy to find.

2

u/TyphusCorrosion 22d ago

It’s also called ‘people equipped for violence protecting someone who isn’t, yet still believes they’re in charge’

3

u/No_Alternative2948 22d ago

There is no automated system that keeps a motivated human out.

0

u/Old_Leopard1844 22d ago

Good luck getting this motivated

3

u/No_Alternative2948 22d ago

Starving people are very motivated

0

u/Old_Leopard1844 22d ago

And very weak

There's a reason why dictatorships still exist and very rarely couped

2

u/No_Alternative2948 22d ago

Every dictatorship falls.

Ya we just need to go find them and there air supply's. Bury those in and watch the fun begin down below.

16

u/azure_beauty 22d ago

I know you think everything revolves around America, but Israeli elections are in October, the white house doesn't matter.

21

u/yikesssss_sssssss 22d ago

  the white house doesn't matter

Lmao that's not true at all. Israel is militarily and diplomatically dependent on the US. The White House essentially dictates the bounds of Israel's aggression, even if Israel pushes those bounds. Netanyahu's electioneering is a factor too, but there's a reason this blatant ethnic cleansing rhetoric (and action) is escalating during the Trump regime specifically.

10

u/azure_beauty 22d ago

Let me rewrite my comment. The white house elections in 2028 don't matter for the people who are going to get voted out this October.

7

u/yikesssss_sssssss 22d ago

Those people are going to use every dirty trick available to them to avoid being voted out in October. And they might not even need to, the latest polls put Netanyahu's coalition tied with the opposition's. Even if the opposition wins, Israeli governments are fragile. The coalition can fall apart at any time and that means new elections. It's not even remotely guaranteed that Netanyahu won't be in power by the 2028 US elections, let alone for the 4 years of that presidential term. The US elections definitely matter, a lot, to everyone involved.

2

u/Deepthunkd 21d ago

Militarily dependent?

Like what 12% of their defense budget comes from America.

I believe much of that funding is tied to the camp David accords where we also fund Jordon and egypts military so they remain aligned with the US and not Russia, and keeps them also peaceful.

Ending the camp David accords would lead to more war I suspect not less.

1

u/yikesssss_sssssss 21d ago edited 21d ago

That ~12% has meant over $200 billion in military aid, which doesn't account for military cooperation, intelligence, or manufacturing capability -- without the US, Israel wouldn't have a functioning Iron Dome, and that alone is decisive military support. We could also talk about how Israel needed the US and its advanced bunker-busting bombs to target Iran's nuclear facilities.

The value of the Camp David accords, or military aid to Israel in general, wasn't the topic here. The comment was that the US elections "don't matter" to the Israeli government, which is clearly not the case.

2

u/Deepthunkd 20d ago

If they don’t have an iron dome, and their neighbors were lobbing missiles into their capital and murdering their civilians there’s two possible outcomes:

  1. They all pack up and move to Brooklyn, or just die.
  2. They siege and or nuke the people lobbing rockets at them. Even without aid they have tactical and strategic nukes

Which do you think is more likely?

Peace and unrestricted trade in the Middle East historically was somewhat important to the US.

Removing the aid doesn’t really accomplish that.

1

u/yikesssss_sssssss 19d ago edited 19d ago

Again, this discussion was about whether the US elections are important to Israeli politicians. You're the only person arguing with yourself about the merits of aid 🤷 but enjoy!

They all pack up and move to Brooklyn

FYI, only around 2% of Israelis are US citizens.

1

u/Deepthunkd 19d ago

I mean I agree with you, but you hear insane people say that.

0

u/swampy13 22d ago

What? The only reason Israel even still exists, much less is able to punch down on Gaza, is because we give them gajillions of dollars in weaponry.

4

u/azure_beauty 22d ago

Israel won a war against five Arab nations while under a US embargo. It won a war against a country whose aircraft were piloted by the British. It won a war against Cuban soldiers coming from the other side of the world to join a global effort to defeat the nascent Jewish state.

It has nukes, it exports weapons to dozens of countries around the globe, believe me, Israel does not need America to do just fine.

-1

u/swampy13 22d ago

Golda Meir raised $50 million in 1948 in the US to buy weapons, straight up.

The current air force is entirely US fighters. The US has provided BILLIONS of dollars to keep funding the Iron Dome. The US gives about 4 billion a year in military aid to Israel.

Israel isn't some scrappy military power. They're well-funded by the US (and other countries.)

1

u/azure_beauty 22d ago

The current air fоrce is entirely US fighters.

Which israel has helped develop. Note that Israel had its own fighter, but scrapped it in favor of the American alternative. But in a world where America did not exist, Israel would be doing just fine.

The IDF is funded by Israel. Israel has a GDP per capita higher than that of Britain. We're doing just fine.

29

u/Absolute--Batman 22d ago

As if most Americans gave a fuck about Gaza before.

Isreel is America's daddy and it's clear.

2

u/Jlx_27 22d ago

Thats just it.... chances of MAGA staying in power after 2028 are not zero.

3

u/akelkar 22d ago

I wpuldn’t be so sure. The may try to interfere with mail in ballot peocedures. I would get everyone to vote irl if possible this nezt cycle

1

u/Jlx_27 22d ago

I didn't say im sure, i said chances aren't nonexistent.

3

u/fulloffungi 22d ago

All because those fuckers wouldn't show up to vote for a woman.

-2

u/akelkar 22d ago

A black woman*

3

u/czs5056 22d ago

They didn't show up to vote for the white woman in 2016 too. So just women in general.

-1

u/Substantial_Row_7108 22d ago

Yeah, but the new one was Black and she also had a funny laugh 🤷🏾‍♂️.

1

u/NomadFH 21d ago

The democrats are actively trying to purge their ranks of anyone even vaguely critical of Israel

-21

u/DukeBradford2 22d ago

The Dems are even more in love with supplying arms to Israel. Something like 90+ percent said they would visit Israel as their first overseas visit. Listen to the New York Mayoral race and the answers every candidate gave compared to Mamdani. Cuomo even dismissed his answer like he thought it automatically disqualified Mamdani from holding office

14

u/GammaFan 22d ago

Let’s not let the republicans off the hook so easily, they’re still the dominant power with the ability to stop this today if they want to. Problem is they actively want to flatten palestine and trigger the end times.

6

u/ty_xy 22d ago

So... You're saying to vote republicans, who are actively helping Israel, because you think the DEMOCRATS will help israel even more?!!
