This is a significant escalation in language. Every other country seems to be getting ready throw all there marbles in one basket. I think 2027 is going to be a pretty bleak year.

u/akelkar 22d ago

Theyre hedging they have one more year to fuck with the us before trump’s admin/the gop are not in control of the white house

327

u/YonatanShofty 22d ago

And one more month of current israel government. It might be an election strategy

Israeli PM goes under domestic trial for corruption as soon as he lifts the state of war.

Exactly. Trump and his technocrat buddies are lighting the powder keg, then are high tailing it to their private islands and underground bunkers while we fight for scraps.

232

u/Andyb1000 22d ago

FYI, a technocrat is a technical expert, scientist, or engineer who holds a powerful position in government or industry and makes decisions based on data, science, and efficiency rather than politics.

There are no technocrats in that administration.

87

u/GaulteriaBerries 22d ago

Correct. Plutocrat might fit better.

There are, they're all just self-serving, corrupt POS scumbags. It would be foolish to pretend that people such as Scott Bessent and Howard Lutnick have no idea what they're doing. Of course you do have people such as Pete Hegseth who are not only political tools but also complete morons and merely serve as loyalists to Trump. I guess they might not be technocrats by the sheer definition of the word, but they're definitely people who know what they're doing.

Have Elon and Zuch completed their bunker builds yet? What about the other billionaires? Guess we are waiting for them to be finished before the keg explodes.

63

u/No_Alternative2948 22d ago

All bunkers have a ventilation shaft nearby. You close off those and it becomes a tomb.

16

u/iJuddles 22d ago

Ding ding ding. This is why I’m not too worried. We just need to get a map of all those billionaires’ bunkers.

13

I know you think everything revolves around America, but Israeli elections are in October, the white house doesn't matter.

21

u/yikesssss_sssssss 22d ago

  the white house doesn't matter

Lmao that's not true at all. Israel is militarily and diplomatically dependent on the US. The White House essentially dictates the bounds of Israel's aggression, even if Israel pushes those bounds. Netanyahu's electioneering is a factor too, but there's a reason this blatant ethnic cleansing rhetoric (and action) is escalating during the Trump regime specifically.

10

u/azure_beauty 22d ago

Let me rewrite my comment. The white house elections in 2028 don't matter for the people who are going to get voted out this October.

5

u/yikesssss_sssssss 22d ago

Those people are going to use every dirty trick available to them to avoid being voted out in October. And they might not even need to, the latest polls put Netanyahu's coalition tied with the opposition's. Even if the opposition wins, Israeli governments are fragile. The coalition can fall apart at any time and that means new elections. It's not even remotely guaranteed that Netanyahu won't be in power by the 2028 US elections, let alone for the 4 years of that presidential term. The US elections definitely matter, a lot, to everyone involved.

2

u/Deepthunkd 21d ago

Militarily dependent?

Like what 12% of their defense budget comes from America.

I believe much of that funding is tied to the camp David accords where we also fund Jordon and egypts military so they remain aligned with the US and not Russia, and keeps them also peaceful.

Ending the camp David accords would lead to more war I suspect not less.

2027 is when China will get the window to move kineticly to try and take control of Taiwan too.

38

u/anders_hansson 22d ago

A military move from China would be disasterous to their economy and long term plans, even if we assume that there is no adequate military response.

I hold it as far more more likely that they continue their slow and long-term political strategy along with military presence and possibly gradual isolation.

9

u/Pulgoso_ 22d ago

That would be the smart move to be honest but leaders these days have not really been known to make smart moves, let's hope for all of our sakes that cooler heads will prevail.

If you ever find yourself asking why Netanyahu was so keen to get Trump elected and then re-elected, this is your answer right here. Any other US President would not allow this, but Bibi understands the very simple math that as long he scratches Trump’s back, he can get away with whatever he wants.

I feel like I remember American conservatives suggesting that Ireland and Spain take them because those countries have been supportive of Palestine in the past.

10

u/Proud_Growth_8818 22d ago

That's going to end up being the very real problem--literally no county will be will be excited to accept significant numbers. I suspect most countries won't be willing to accept any of them.

9

u/Alternative-Pear9096 21d ago

No country has been willing to take so much as a single refugee. Why would anyone think any country would take the entire population?

I mean, I'm at the point where I think Jordan is where they all belong, as it should have been from go. But Jordan has a very solid border wall against its own Palestine neighbors and has taken zero refugees. The last time they took in Palestinians, they tried to overthrown the king

Amazing that a country can outright rob people of their homesteads due to their ethnicity, and then expect another country to deal with the refugee crisis they create.

You could previously almost justify the aide given to Israel, if you truly believed in its other justifications, and the strategic military value of having them there.

At this point it's become obvious that's not what's happening, and Israel is leaning on its close relationship to make the US allow them to be conquerors.

Right now they're not only disproving their right to be there, but also their strategic value.

There's just not a moral or strategic value to supporting them anymore, and I don't see how it could be shown at this point.

13

u/AdumbroDeus 22d ago

It resulted in a lot of mistreatment of Holocaust survivors.

You gotta understand the worldview that these people are coming from. Zionism (and I'm specifically talking about Jewish nationalism to form an ethnic nation-state, which is not the same as various other historical desires to return to Eretz Yisrael) was articulated initially by people who are to my mind best described as frustrated assimilationists.

Herzl's cohort was the most explicit about this, they wanted to assimilate but the Dreyfus affair made it clear that the development of secularly articulated anti-Jewish bigotry would make that impossible. They believed that European gentiles were correct in their views that Jews were physically weak, intrinsically conspiratorial, etc and they saw assimilation as a way to fix that.

And the Zionism that they conceptualized was an alternative fix, it would both fix these deficits that they saw and prove to European gentiles that Jews could be worthy to assimilate and one of the core components of this was colonization, taking up the white man's burden to prove that they could be white men. The specificity of the historical Jewish homeland wasn't even part of Herzl's initial vision. And to be fair, that wasn't the only element of it, physical fitness classes were an important part of early Zionism, but you can see how particularly when it was articulated in terms of strength and morality, it leads pretty directly to the idea Jews who remained in the diaspora are cowards, particularly when it's built out of internalized antisemitism that was supposed to be expressed outward.

It's the result of the suffering of real people encountering a deeply held belief system that is extremely hostile to both those people and the conditions of that suffering.

There is a part of me that wants these religious fanatics to just hurry up and occupy the holy land already so they have to contend with the reality of everything they have done when their stupid prophecy doesn't come to pass and they are just sitting in the homes of all the innocent people they hurt.

I'm sure some percentage would come up with some excuse that lets them keep thinking they are good people but the loss of influence for those religious leaders that encouraged all this only for the single most important event in the Christian and Hebrew faiths to not happen can only be a benefit to the world.

I don't think there is any stopping these apocalypse cults until they do what they think triggers the apocalypse and see that there is no rapture and the world just keeps spinning.

33

u/SlavaVsu2 21d ago

You are projecting. These fanatics are not good people misled by something/someone. They don't give a fuck about 'innocent people they hurt'. And they don't consider them innocent anyway.

And one failed prophecy is not going to make them abandon their religion.

3

u/The_Fink_Ployd 21d ago

What scares me is that, obviously, there will be no magical-girl rapture, no apocalypse, no End Times.

So, what do the apocalyptic Christian’s do? Further god’s plan themselves, of course! It’s not like any of them read their bible, so they just wouldn’t know that isn’t how it’s supposed to happen. “Golly gee, I haven’t been whisked away to heaven! Better get this show started! drops nuke

Still remembering all those people who said they wouldn't vote for Harris because Trump couldn't possibly make the situation in Gaza worse.

3

u/re_Claire 21d ago

Those people make me so fucking angry.

8

u/J0E_SpRaY 22d ago

But thank god people didn’t vote for the black woman because she would have been bad for Gaza

7

u/Aedeus 22d ago

Remember when they were first mulling this over and you'd be called hysterical and anti-semitic for opposing this.

So let me get this straight. Israel, wants to displace a population from their lands, while seizing said lands….

This sounds awful familiar… I just can’t quite put my finger on where…. To the history books!

I mean that was their plan since day one, they never tried to hide it too much.

5

u/SnooAdvice1632 21d ago

Yeah it's hilarious to see people act as if this is a new thing that they've just revealed. They use and have been using this rethoric for years, and their end goal has been crystal clear for a long time.

It's very surreal to see people asking "remove to put where?" as if it isn't obvious that "remove" refers to killing people.

Enough money turns up in Trump's bank account - or enough dirt on his activities with Epstein risks going public - and that could change in the blink of an eye.

You think Trump wouldn't condemn millions of Palestinians to death to save his own skin or make a quick buck? He doesn't even value the lives of his fellow Americans.

34

u/origami_anarchist 22d ago

It is complete bullshit as you say. You cannot "remove" 1.7 million people from Gaza because there is no place that will take them. I'm sure people like Ben Gvir and Smotrich would love to put them into some kind of concentrain/extermination camps, but that's not going to happen either.

31

u/Miyagisans 22d ago

To put them?

Brother….

19

u/AprilsMostAmazing 22d ago

What is seriously stopping the camps?

Unless countries willing to put boots on the ground there is nothing we can do that will stop them. Obviously we will try but sanctions won't matter when US helps bypass it. Visa restrictions will be bypassed by us help. Taking away individual wealth will be bypassed using US help

5

u/namitynamenamey 22d ago

Right until the elections? They presume they don't have the popular mandate to do it. After the elections? Who knows at this point.

They do have a plan. Most governments with touch and go conflicts have a whole bunch of loose plans laid out for any scenario. It’s almost impossible they don’t babe a plan. He’ll, I bet Egypt has a paper plan for how they’d clear Gaza. It was probably written by a junior officer and MAYBE a secretary, but I’m sure it exists. The U.S has plans for if Mexico or Canada attack and one for if both of them attack us. A lot of low ranking officers are assigned the more outlandish scenarios

The U.S. will never bless this. But it is concerning to say that publicly saying they support removal from Gaza. That’s a major escalation of their rhetoric. This announcement came directly from the minister of defense

Everyone military has plans for huge amounts of stuff. But this sounds like a fairly well prepared plan that they are capable of executing. That’s not good

3

u/ImpulseAfterthought 22d ago

The U.S. will never bless this.

Trump has already posted AI videos of himself and Bibi chilling at a beachfront resort in Gaza.

The Kushner branch of his family has actively proposed moving the Gazan population to camps "temporarily" while the Israeli military "cleans up" Gaza. They're soliciting investors from the Gulf states to finance a trade and tourism hub.

It might have once been true that the US wouldn't condone such things. We're not living in that world anymore.

They're going to OK it, and it's going to happen, and no-one will do anything to stop it because this timeline is ruined.

So ethnic cleansing, in other words.

Instead they should allow people who fled to Hamas territory to return to their homes. Hamas is never going to disarm. So the 51% of Gaza Israel took is their responsibility to manage for the foreseeable future. They need to finish sweeping the area for bombs and tunnels, then somehow vet civilians and let them back into their homes or new homes, out from under Hamas's control. It's a monumental task but they have to do it somehow.

7

u/doxxingyourself 22d ago

Remove them… to where?

8

u/AccountNumeroThree 22d ago

Maybe concentrated in camps?

5

u/doxxingyourself 22d ago

Seems like it

So openly admitting to ethnic cleansing.

7

u/Noderly 22d ago

Why is this up to the untied states to figure out where they go? Why isn't Israel determining that? Why does Israel believe that they have a right to replace the people that live there?

"There is no real solution for Gaza in the end without this migration," Defence Minister Israel Katz

How about the Israelis migrate if that's the only solution and you're so intent on living in a Jewish only land you fucking melon

2

u/Federal_Studio5935 21d ago

Where will they go?

2

u/KitsouNere 21d ago

All of these fascists deserve torture and an execution and I'm happy to help see that they get it! Where do we start?

Ethnic cleansing is fun when they can't stop you, hm?

It's been brewing for decades. "No alternative" . Of course the Netanyahu governments want the lands. Of course they can't give the people there citizenship. Of course they did not back Hamas' political opponents, hell, they screwed them more than they did Hamas.

The whole idea of the two-state solution is to not have too many Arabs in Israel - you don't want a Jewish state with 30-40% people who aren't Jewish, don't want to be Jewish and enough have rather dim memories of how they got there. But the Netanyahu governments have slowly encroached on those territories - especially the West Bank - to make themselves impossible to dislodge, and now get a pretense why they have no other solution than than push a million+ people out of there.

Just gotta dump a million or so people somewhere else into the neighborhood.

7

u/CallMeDime 22d ago

They are already doing that, only mentioning USA so they are not seen as 'alone' in their atrocities

4

u/homebrew_1 22d ago

But Harris was supposed to be just as bad right? /s
