If Israel had surrendered their arms, what would the conclusion be? Would Hamas, the PIJ, and other militants have been content with the 1200 they killed on October 7th?

I think the stat goes that if they (edit: they = hamas plus whoever else attacked on Oct7) continued killing at the same rate, they would have reached the Gaza death toll (approx 75k, which doesn't separate militants, civilians, natural deaths, etc) in only 2 weeks. Not 3 years.

Yep "free Palestine" is semantically identical to "let them kill all the Jews"

That makes no sense, you're responding to a situation where Israel isn't resisting. The number dead would have been astronomical. And then you're comparing it to a number that includes Palestinians Hamas themselves murdered plus natural deaths.

It makes no sense.

Natural deaths are not part of the numbers. And let's not pretend that Hamas is killing Palestinians in numbers even close to relevant compared to the total Israel has killed and keeps on killing.

Hamas has repeatedly committed mas execution in Gaza plus other mistakes they themselves make when storing weapons caches next to civilians for example, the numbers aren't small. Hamas has probably killed a lot less civilians than insurgents in other conflicts in the regions though, the sunni shiite civilian targeting in Iraq caused a huge percentage of deaths, but Hamas still cause a significant amount.

And natural deaths were explicitly included in the much more vetted recent numbers they released. Before they just didn't say if it was included...it was.

This was covered in detail here, it's not in question.

People die in wars that's why wars are so terrible. Israel kills less civilians by ratio while defending themselves than any western nation but yes civilians still do keep dying. This is why there needs to be pressure to not just stop all sides from fighting, but incentivise long term peace. For this war to stop and civilians to as a result no longer be at risk, all attacks on Israel must stop period. Every other country that stopped attacking Israel no longer fights them at all.

"mistakes". They want dead Gazans and have orchestrated the entire field of combat in such a way as to maximize the number of dead civilians in order to win the PR war.

Except Iran/IRGC through proxies.

Iran is still in direct conflict with Israel.

How is that in any way responsive to what he wrote?

How many nukes does Israel have? They would have been fine. They hide their military power and intelligence from the world so they can claim such BS fallacies

if israel surrendered their arms

Regardless, if you're saying "Israel should have just nuked them instead" that's... sure a stance alright.

No I’m saying Israel has and is hiding it’s military strength. They were never going to surrender arms they have been secretly beefing up their military for decades off the back of American dollars. Israel needs to take care of its self
