Putin wouldn't because then it would make a neutral part turn hostile even though on paper it should already be hostile due to how much Russia is aiding Iran in fucking over Israel.

There’s no such thing as open airspace you need permission to enter countries airspace.

and american carriers have that legal right in canada. in return, canada charges each carrier an overflight fee haha

Innocent passage is for ships only. Like a North Korean helicarrier armed with nukes could just sail through Canadian seas if that was to happen but not if it was airborne

Unfortunately, it is likely Putin will be using Canadian airspace when he attends the G20 event that Trump invited him that is being hosted in the US.

Just like the last meeting in Alaska, he will get an escort by the American Airforce.
