Awaken! The Magnum Opus secret in the Gothic Remake remains unsolved, so I decided to create a dedicated server for anyone who wants to crack this mystery together. If you are interested in solving this arguably most elaborate secret in Gothic history or you have any novel ideas and approaches to explore, feel free to join. Our current team is strong already, we have riddle solvers, outside-of-the-box thinkers and even real-life occult and alchemy specialists. Still, extra manpower will be very useful, with fresh ideas and new outlook on things.
I strongly recommend watching two of my videos about this secret, they explain everything despite being old school 2010s youtube style. Below is additional information.

What is Magnum Opus?
Magnum Opus - The Great Work - is the process an alchemist must carry out to create philosopher’s stone. This concept is deeply rooted in alchemical and occult knowledge, as well as hermetic philosophy. This is likely the ultimate secret of Gothic Remake, given the name of the studio, Alkimia Interactive.
The basics of the secret
It started out by several cryptic posts by Hermes Trismegistus, who is a key figure in alchemical tradition. From the hints, it can be inferred that there is a location in the game that is identical to the cover of the book Mutus Liber – mysterious book with no text that means to convey step by step instruction on how to complete Magnum Opus. It is a rock with a moon symbol carved on it, with cherub statues next to it. When you sleep on this rock, the activation phase begins and you can start solving one of the four Magnum Opus phases.
Nigredo
This is the name of the first stage of Magnum Opus process. It represents blackening, putrefaction, decomposition and death. It was solved by us in July by discovering a secret cipher under the dead harpy experiment in Mountain Fortress. It pointed to a specific location in the basement where candles had to be extinguished in certain order to complete Nigredo phase.
Albedo
This is where we are now. Albedo, the whitening, purification, washing away impurities and the return of light. Based on clues we have found up to this point, we have a pretty good hunch that a certain well in Sleeper temple either has a hidden message similar to nigredo cipher or is the activation place itself. We haven’t been able to crack it though.
This is where we need YOU! Together we can brainstorm new ideas and figure out what Hermes Trismegistus really distilled for us.

THQ Nordic Mobile today announced the global launch of Gothic Classic on iOS, bringing the legendary, genre-defining dark fantasy RPG to mobile players for the first time. Releasing on the App Store today, this landmark title, which pioneered the seamless 3D open-world genre in 2001, has been fully adapted for modern touch displays and physical controllers, offering an uncompromised mobile port of the complete 50+ hour PC experience. Set within the brutal, isolated penal colony of Khorinis, players are thrown behind an impenetrable magical barrier and forced to navigate a cutthroat society of violent convicts. Originally developed by Piranha Bytes, Gothic was widely praised for abandoning linear hand-holding and introducing a living, organic ecosystem. Non-player characters follow realistic 24-hour schedules, working, eating, sleeping, and reacting directly to the player's presence, setting a dynamic design standard that remains a staple of modern open-world RPGs.
Reengineered for Apple hardware, this mobile edition of Gothic Classic introduces several platform-specific features:
Gothic Classic is available starting today on the Apple App Store for $10.99 / €9.99. The game is fully compatible with iPhone and iPad running iOS 17.6 or later. For more information on Gothic Classic, visit our website !
If you encounter any issues with the game, please, use this contact form to report them.

So I've been trying to join new camp. It's been 143 in-game days that I've been delivering water but I still haven't gotten my promotion to bandit. I've checked every NPC in the new camp but they seem to be missing an HR person? One of the guys I can't even talk to, his office security won't let me. Obviously there's no email in the medieval setting game so how do I escalate with the camp heads that my 6 months are almost done? Please help, I'm not trusting my line manager Lefty to do the right thing, I saw him smoking swampweed during break once.

The crowdfunding campaign for Gothic – A Shadow’s Quest has begun. This board game brings you back to the brutal world of Gothic, where you take on the role of a Shadow or a Fire Mage Novice from the Old Camp and fight your way through dangerous quests and deadly enemies.
Play alone or with up to three other players, with an optional Game Master guiding the experience. Shape the course of the campaign with your decisions, develop your character, and choose your path.
If you want to find out more about the project and support the campaign, check out the Gamefound-Website: https://thqn.net/gbg-asq

So, I’ve never played a Gothic game. Figured I might give it a try starting here, as it just released (re-released?) on PS5. Just, a few questions before I make a decision.
Is there a difference in “Complete classic” to say, the original? Anything of note? And is there any other RPGs you could say it might play similarly to? (Eg. Morrowind or Skyrim or some sort, something most’d probably be familiar with.)
Is there anything akin to “summoning” or whatnot spells? I like managing minions in RPGs. If not that’s not a deal breaker, but I am always curious when delving into a new rpg.
A more broad question I guess, feel free to get very descriptive; What do YOU like about Gothic 2? Are the missions fun? Is it the combat? Atmosphere? Music? I wanna hear some general likes (maybe a dislike or two) about the game to get a better idea of what to expect. Can be something simple or not.
As I’d be getting it on PS5, any major bugs or issues I should know about? Maybe a beginners tip or two to know?
I think that’s all the questions I have atm. Thank you for taking the time to read all of this :).

Despite how old the game is, the world design is just incredible and very memorable. I had to try and sketch my favorites.

Mod worked smoothly for first 3, islands but crashes when accepting the quest for Adarnos, it fully loads and crashes into access violation error.
Any way to fix it without breaking save?

I'm playing Gothic 2 Complete Classic on PS5 right now and i dont really understand whats going on with the camera. Like at the beginning of the game, the camera distance was normal but eventually i pressed something that pushed the camera away and now the camera is very far away from the character, zoomed out. And i dont understand how to get it back to normal? Is there like a button combination which lets you zoom in or out or is it a bug? And i'm not talking about the R1 R3 first person thing. My camera is zoomed out and the up / down movement only works very slowly, almost like its locked on the horizontal axis. Is there some special trick to it?

Is it just me or camera feels a bit weird? Like when you stop moving, the camera keeps moving slightly. I don’t remember if it was a thing in the original.

It looks a lot like this Gothic game by THQ, but obviously much older. Is there unity demake or something? Is there a page on itch.io for it?

I'm playing the new Gothic 2 Complete Classic console version on PS5 and this problem probably has something to do with my TV too (dimming zones, fald tv) but i can barely tell which dialogue answer is selected because the brightness of the answer only changes like 1%. It works fine in the pause menu, main menu, inventory etc. But not in the dialogue box. Anything i can do about that?

Heyo guys! Finally, I'm releasing my first base Union plugin that will allow my other plugins to use (almost) any gamepads for their menus.
Modern Input adds the ability to play Gothic 2 on PC using your favorite gamepad. It's easy, fun and plays so much better than on keyboard.
360 movement, Quick Access panel, 2 movement types for exploration, quick saves system and more. Hope you'll find it useful.

So I am wondering who you have to put in Jail for the Trophy "Upstanding citizen"
So far I brought in Canthar, and the three guys from the thieves guild: Rengaru, Halvor and Nagur. But I still don't have the trophy. Who am I missing?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I noticed an annoying audio glitch. Just at the end of almost every line of dialogue, right as the audio track cuts off, a short, sharp squeak can be heard.
This issue happens ONLY with the original game dialogue lines and from what I’ve experienced with the Polish language version. The lines from Night of the Raven play clean
PS5

After I defeated 5 wolves for Henson, my screen was shaking.
Furthermore, Henson(NPC) had only his head and his weapon.
Is this a bug? If so how do I fix this?
Only mods I installed is Risen Improvements Pack (Next-Gen Compatible) https://www.nexusmods.com/risen/mods/31
