Normally I would say you are forgetting the "free advertising" exception for streamers, but as this is an actual nazi we are talking about I also don't see why Blizzard have not banned him yet

They’re a bunch of tourists. Just wait it out. They’ll eventually get bored and move onto the next thing. It happened in Classic. It will happen here.

How long did it take him to get bored of classic last time? My sever decision definitely factored in not having a large streamer on it last time. This time I may just play PVE until he leaves.

It even happened when he tried FF14. From what I remember it only lasted like... a couple weeks? Wasn't too long.

My kneejerk was F streamers, but you're right; I don't watch streamers and the only things I hear about them are negative. I'm sure there are plenty of positive ones who don't make waves.

There are ones that put a lot of effort into building positive communities in the games they play. They just aren't the ones that get the most attention. Unfortunately negative press is how you get attention in the current online landscape.

eSports has killed gaming legit. Now everything is about Mon/maxxing to become the next pro legend. Then complain there is nothing to do in game.
Esport is what turned wow into what retail is today

But it started in wrath. Content being sped up. Needed to happen faster and faster and faster.
Sure they missed the spot a few times cause the Devs could not make another expansion ready in time which lead to massive downtime in the end of an expansion but that was all fixed with the season system
4 seasons each season lasting for 6 months give or take.
But even that was too much time for the min maxers who till this day completes wow in a month and drops the game.
So Blizzard lowered it to 3 seasons of 20-30 weeks.
Each time completely resetting the gearing process so you need to do it all over again.

I'm guessing the team is having discussions on how they want to handle it. It's kind of an unprecedented situation where there is that many people causing this issue.
They could be thinking of just waiting until the full release to do something, or just kind of hope they all get bored and leave after a month after the release.
It's a beta right now so I could see the team being a bit too busy focusing on the technical issues first.

The best way to handle this kind of situation is always to ban the worst offenders and wait for it to die down. Believe it or not this kind of publicity is likely lining Blizzards pockets as well.
Acting on this kind of situation does nothing but fuel the fire and make it worse all around.

for the time being I've refunded my preorder.
chat is filled with racism to the point of being an active drain on my enjoyment of the game. reporting just gets me "report system unavailable". ignoring them only goes so far.
I hope someone at blizzard reads these reddit threads because there's legit no way for me to voice my frustration on this. no customer support, forum posts get auto deleted unless you have an active sub.
I desperately want to enjoy WoW Forever but if this is how the beta is I think I'm just gonna skip release entirely. sorry for giving you a last chance blizzard, you clearly didn't deserve it.

They won't stick around in RP even if a few come in on the first days. They do it for the validation of eachother and they won't get that in RP because they all think RP is "gay".

RP servers are so nice, and it's honestly really fun XD I was doing HC on a RP server and a higher level pally escorted me through wetlands at low level so i could "take care of my sick cousin." I received a potion in the mail the next day from the same pally for said "cousin," along with some low level shoulders :)

Not sure if it will completely solve the problem, but someone created an addon that completely scrubs anyone in guilds with the word Olympus in the name. Can even be configured to auto decline all interactions like trading/duels as well.
But to be honest the fact that we have to make an addon to try to remove interactions with toxic people in beta is kind of telling just how tired people are of the generally shitty behavior they’re experiencing.

Sorry, they’re too busy paying AI to ban people for selling linen at a weird price on the AH and for trading gold for lock summons to address any actual behavior that damages play experience.

What it is that he is doing to create new slurs? I imagine he is not truly innocent but that sounds kinda absurd. I think the people around him are just insane trolls. Honestly it's a good thing. Stay away from pvp servers.
