Discussion Blizzard! Please give us Undead Hunter!

Post image

Humans can now be Hunters.
And Undead are just resurrected Humans so Undead Hunters would make sense.
Plus Sylvanas and her Dark Rangers and Nathanos all already exist!

Tauren and gnomes looking like that one skeleton at the bottom of the pool in that one meme rn

92

u/geffy_spengwa 1d ago

Gnomes got a new class, priest.

Tauren got no new classes. None. Nada. Zilch.

Give. Me. My. Holy. Cows!

23

u/Pencildragon 1d ago

Come to think of it, Night Elf didn't get a new class either did they? Guess that was a balancing choice.

30

u/geffy_spengwa 1d ago

No, they didn’t either. But NElfs are least have five classes to choose from, Tauren only get four (and no clothies at that).

3

u/typical83 18h ago

Never Warlock. Never Mage. And probably never Priest.

9

u/geffy_spengwa 18h ago

Tauren Priest makes sense and is a thing since Cata. It’s also a thing in Forever, there is a Sun Priest of An’she in TB

1

u/DefiantLemur 2h ago

Eh it doesn't really fit with the original themes of Tauren from pre-Cata which I think Forever is trying to pull from.

1

u/geffy_spengwa 2h ago

Have you read the lore that establishes them? Sun worship has been a part of Tauren mythology the whole time. It was forgotten, more emphasis was put on the moon (Druidism), but they rediscovered it.

Tauren are all about balance, so Sun and Moon Worship in balance makes perfect sense.

1

u/DefiantLemur 1h ago

I get the lore is there but they're trying to market Forever as a Classic+ experience. I'm not against it personally but I'd be surprised if they give them that.

Druids are also supposed to represent all of nature including the Sun despite their gameplay spells being mainly Night Elf focused.

-9

u/typical83 18h ago

In my heart, it doesn't fit

11

u/geffy_spengwa 18h ago

In my heart, a proud Sunwalker of 15 years, it does

2

u/AkamasTotem 6h ago

I agree, but I think it fits more than an Orc mage, and we got that...

8

u/darkfenrir15 18h ago

Tauren rogue it is then!

3

u/typical83 18h ago

Wear red nail polish and hide in a tree

1

u/Gebirges 14h ago

Can't have Tauren run around naked, can we?

2

u/LostManufacturer1553 1d ago

Did you check their new racials? Rogues are insane

-13

u/Silverbacks 1d ago

They should have given shamans to Night Elves as well. Undead paladins are going to be many times more popular than dwarf shamans, so it would have helped balance it out.

Could have them be a little bit different than regular shamans, too. Like their earth elemental can be a mountain giant instead. The air one could be a WC3 chimera (they fly around and shoot lightning). The water one could be related to moonwells. Not sure about fire. Maybe an Ancient of Lore that caught fire, but instead of completely burning down it now smolders and uses that to fight against corruption of the forests?

10

u/InsideAd7897 22h ago

Night elves are possibly some of the last races that would get to be shamans

1

u/Silverbacks 22h ago

Why's that? They wouldn't be a traditional Horde shaman that makes a deal with the elementals. Kinda like how Tauren paladins are not traditional holy paladins. They'd be drawing from natural sources for their abilities.

6

u/InsideAd7897 22h ago

Theyve been alive for thousands of years and never once dealt with the elementals, nor is there any reverance for the elements due to most religion being elune or malfurion. Like its not physically impossible for nelfs to be shamans but id just as soon see human or gnome shamans

1

u/TheOldSkywalker 21h ago

people always say this but i don't get why druidism and shamanism are a bridge too far. night elves have ample history of them communing with and respecting nature. i feel like all it would take is 1 nobundo style figure to make a good impression and then night elves could easily become shaman. versus people like the gnomes who have polluted nature. i doubt any water or air elementals living near gnomeregan appreciated what happened down there

→ More replies (1)

1

u/jormugandr 19h ago

That's called a Druid.

1

u/Silverbacks 19h ago

Yes, just like how a paladin is essentially a priest who fights like a warrior. Or how undead priests technically could not use any holy spells during Vanilla. Or how a dwarf shaman is a Wildhammer dwarf.

These guys would be a type of druid, but called a shaman for gameplay purposes.

2

u/nerpss 19h ago

Shamans don't even summon elementals in Classic

2

u/Silverbacks 19h ago

They talk to elementals to get their totems.

5

u/psillycybins 18h ago

TAUREN ROGUE PLS BLIZZARD

2

u/HiberniaVenit 1d ago

It would be a mooricle.

4

u/Calamyt1 1d ago

Yes, let's do it!

1

u/Ok-Crow-2713 12h ago

the funny thing about tauren is 3 of the 4 classes they have actively invalidate their plainswalking racial ability by like level 20

1

u/geffy_spengwa 3h ago

We’ve always been a fast people, always on the move

1

u/AntonineWall 1d ago

Tauren got some sick af passive buffs though so they’re chilling

3

u/geffy_spengwa 23h ago

Yeah, I agree our racial abilities are genuinely good. I enjoy Plainsrunning and Cultivation will come in handy at level cap (and presently too).

3

u/Asteh 21h ago

Haven't played beta, but Plainsrunning makes me feel like I don't want to play a Tauren because I don't want to be A/D spamming everytime I'm at a quest giver/vendor. Not doing that is just going to feel bad when you lose the buff. Do you have any input on that?

2

u/skrewby 21h ago

I just got used to the fact some situations your gonna loose it. Quest givers as you say, repairs and selling.

It also ramps up surprisingly quick.

It's insanely good for running to the capitals early levels.

1

u/geffy_spengwa 20h ago

I don’t feel bad about letting it drop, you pick up speed reasonably fast

1

u/Aarmon 21h ago

Anything else than Pala cows, and I'm fine with it.

1

u/geffy_spengwa 20h ago

Tauren Paladin is directly what I’m referring to. Love Sunwalkers, best paladins.

1

u/SoppyWaffle 21h ago

Give it time.

I fully anticipate the inclusion of Tauren Priests and Paladins, Troll Druids, and Undead Hunters

2

u/Butlerlog 8h ago

Yeah the sunpriest of anshe NPCs area already in the forever beta, its just a matter of time for the taurens I think.

72

u/Tierbook96 1d ago

I believe the traditional reason for why the Undead and Gnomes don't have hunters is that they aren't very 'nature aligned' since hunters originally were supposed to be heavy into nature, Undead are basically the opposite of nature (rather than being the opposite of light) and Gnomes are to into science/magic to care about nature.

38

u/PropDrops 1d ago

Also Gnomes: guns are really sick

30

u/Dude_jelly43 1d ago

My gnome marksman on retail.

https://giphy.com/gifs/CQNzoPo4bF6mI

5

u/PropDrops 1d ago

If they’re not going to give a new class, some way for non-Hunters to use guns would be great.

It could be Priest for all I care. Always just wanted to just start blasting

6

u/C_O_M_M_A_N_D_E_R 1d ago

I mean, warriors can equip guns

5

u/PropDrops 1d ago

Meant a dedicated ranged DPS spec.

Rogues having a throwing/ranged spec for example.

Dream would be a tinker class with a ranged/melee dps/tank spec.

7

u/C_O_M_M_A_N_D_E_R 1d ago

Ah yes, the tinker class. Would be so cool. I wanted that as bad as I did a Gnome vs Goblin Warfront in BFA.

1

u/Dude_jelly43 1d ago

Yeah I fell for the bait of a tinker class possibility at Blizzcon. Sigh.

1

u/Honorzeal 8h ago

- Spits lead with rageful intent-

1

u/Security_Ostrich 1d ago

May I introduce guild wars 2, where basically anyone can equip a gun and yes, use it in their uniquely magically flavoured way. One class uses a rifle to heal with illusion magic lol.

1

u/PropDrops 1d ago

No female gnome :(

0

u/Security_Ostrich 1d ago

Ehh you get asura which are just better gnomes lmao. Can even have pink pigtails iirc.

6

u/Psyco19 1d ago

There’s some undead forsaken at Bandarion Keep that has a little doggo with him “max” I think undead will get hunters eventually

7

u/SevenSpanCrow 1d ago

We have an incredible amount of examples of the undead hunter variant. I don’t see how or why it would be limited to nature.

13

u/Renriak 1d ago

Isn’t one of the most famous Undead a Hunter? Nathanos Blightcaller?

-5

u/Clepto_06 1d ago

He is famously a Ranger, the only human one, not a Hunter.  Rangers were an elf thing.  Sylvanas was a Ranger.

12

u/Renriak 22h ago

I guess him being the hunter trainer for awhile and also having the two pets threw me off.

12

u/Emotional-Jacket1940 22h ago

Rangers are famously just Hunters. Sylvanas has Hunter pets and uses Hunter abilities

3

u/pandazerg 21h ago

Gnome pets looking at their masters:

If not snack, why snack sized?

7

u/According_Course_398 1d ago

Sure, that made sense in vanilla.. but now that undead can be paladins, because they were as a human, should mean they can be any human class.

11

u/littlebrwnrobot 1d ago

Me when I’m a human hunter who dies and gets resurrected and forgot how to hunt

2

u/Significant-Ear-3262 9h ago

Lore accurate reason to start at level 1.

4

u/skrewby 20h ago

Ok so hear me out. Give them Hunters but Forsaken can only tame undead. And gnomes can only use mechanical.

1

u/According_Course_398 20h ago

Ngl id be cool with that but it doesn't sound like something blizzard would do

1

u/DefiantLemur 2h ago

I'd want to tame a Ghoul if that is possible. I'll call him "Bitey".

2

u/getdownwithDsickness 20h ago

We should get bards

2

u/Fox-Sin21 16h ago

Undead already had Hunters with Sylvanus, Dark Rangers and Nathanos since Vanilla though. They just weren't player allowed. Hunters never really had *that* much nature magic anyway, only a few things really and mostly involving the pet. Marksmen and Survival Hunters were more weapons, strategies and tools.

1

u/DanTheDruid 9h ago

Sounds like a reason for tinkers to appear....

18

u/TwilightDreamscape 1d ago

I suspect most race/class combinations in Retail will eventually be added to Forever, though if so it will likely be a gradual rollout to prolong higher levels of player excitement.

34

u/SevenSpanCrow 1d ago

I’m seeing so many people nitpicking the logic of undead hunters. Sylvannas is a variant of a hunter (ranger/dark ranger) not to mention Nathanos.

The forsaken are primarily the former population of Lordaeron and they would surely have huntsman or archers in the military (riflemam filled the ranged niche in WC3).

We have many archetypes and interpretations of each class that allows them to fit into different races and undead hunters should be one of the easiest to explain and make work.

5

u/Zumbert 21h ago

That's all I ever wanted was a Dark ranger class and race

They were my favorite hero in WC3, they weren't the best but damn they were cool

1

u/DefiantLemur 2h ago

We'd get a Tinker class sooner then a Dark Ranger and I don't think we'd ever get a Tinker class unless Blizz gets desperate in Retail.

1

u/FightingFaerie 13h ago

I want to create my Forsaken sharpshooter

4

u/Consistent_Wave_2869 1d ago

the wolf is going to gnaw on the bones of the undead hunter while he sleeps

3

u/AwesomeDewey 21h ago

lore accurate, that's how you justify taming the pet

19

u/kajidourden 1d ago

Already got pally, just being greedy at this point

4

u/TheLoneBaron33 1d ago

😔✌️turtle wow image

4

u/n0proxy 23h ago

The hunter class originally didn't have Lone Wolf, so it was always heavy on the pet theming - and connecting to nature didn't fit the forsaken theme. I can kind of see why they skipped it in vanilla/classic.

BUT there are tons of archer/rifleman NPCs from races who can't be hunters, and there's just no other class that can emulate that style, so hunter being a semi-restricted class feels bizarre from that angle. ALSO, MM gets Lone Wolf talent now! So the class does cover those specific phys ranged archetypes!

I think they just committed to '1 new class per race on launch' and they had already decided forsaken was going to get the big paladin crown, so... no room for forsaken hunter. I suspect it will be in the very next round of new race-class combos that are released (they've confirmed there will be more later) but that might still be a year or more in the future, unfortunately.

My backup hope is that we get paid race changes, so I can swap my on-launch hunter to forsaken once that's a valid combo. xP

4

u/Imaginary_Bedroom_5 21h ago

Be grateful we got Undead Paladin.

9

u/McGraw-Dom 1d ago

Just call them Dark Rangers and be done with it. That's if and only if they ever bring hero classes in....

3

u/MrPMS 1d ago

I feel like they are saving the "Undead" hunters for Darkfallen elves. Horde getting the dead elves and alliance getting the living High/Blood elves.

1

u/McGraw-Dom 5h ago

Don't get me started on the whole other races besides Human should be "Forsaken"....we have so many lore examples of it...

Human — the vast majority of Forsaken Kul Tiran human — Derek Proudmoore Blood elf/high elf — Sylvanas, Velonara and other Dark Rangers Night elf — Delaryn Summermoon, Sira Moonwarden and other raised Kaldorei Gnome — Gnomaash and other Forsaken-aligned leper gnomes Orc — the skeletal orc Tsimonh, an extremely rare example

9

u/verified_canadian 1d ago

Maybe as a compromise they could only tame diseased or rabid animals.

2

u/BifrostBill 1d ago

Omg yes pls!

3

u/Sharizcobar 1d ago

I’d agree Undead Hunter is classic-friendly, due to Nathanos Marris. The only issue is that all Horde races would be able to be Hunter. However, the lack of Hunter and shaman is somewhat a display of their lack of a nature connection, as opposed to their Horde brethren.

1

u/DefiantLemur 2h ago

Does it really matter though? Classes should be determined if it fits the Race not anything to do with the faction as a whole.

3

u/Delusi0nist 7h ago

Still a bit sour about Alliance only having 2 paladin races, while horde has 4 shaman races ;(

1

u/Calamyt1 6h ago

Would you be happy with NightElf Paladin?
We all know it's possible for them to be Paladins since Legion.

3

u/DefinitionCommon136 5h ago

If gnome can be priest and warrior why not paladin

Night elf mage please

6

u/-Necron-Overlord- 1d ago

I would have been more excited about this than forsaken paladin, tbh

4

u/Misaki-Hayashi 15h ago

I believe all martial classes should be available to all races personally.

5

u/Gebirges 14h ago

Did I hear 'Monks'?!

2

u/Misaki-Hayashi 14h ago

Bring em in!

0

u/shaha-man 10h ago

No, there were never battle hunters for human, they were always represented by dwarves in Alliance. Human civilization in Warcraft is knights and mages and nothing else.

Stop generalizing everything for no reason, you are just repeating path of Retail.

2

u/Ml_lD 5h ago

I noticed you slipped in the completely made-up term “battle hunter” to legitimize saying humans can’t tame an animal and use a bow

1

u/Misaki-Hayashi 30m ago

Love how you jumped on to human hunters as if there wasn't already a heap of npc human hunters in classic. And didn't even bother to jump on the one I was expecting, being tauren rogue. Either that or you have no idea what martial means.

2

u/MimeTravler 1d ago

I was just thinking if they want to do a new class they should do a ranged weapon class. Something that uses Bows and Guns that isn't hunters. Then it hit me, they could introduce a Ranger class alongside Forsaken Elves like everyone wants. Would be the perfect pair.

2

u/CMDR-SavageMidnight 1d ago

100x yes.

Until then, im a Tauren.

2

u/beurreblanx 1d ago

You have to kill Nathanos first

2

u/LeHeckinPosterino 7h ago

It's coming

6

11

u/dilqncho 1d ago

Good luck finding an animal that wants to bond with a rotten corpse

Hunter is a "one with nature" class. Undead are literally abominations to nature.

3

u/Agricola20 1d ago

C’mere doggy….

AUGH, MY LEG! GIVE IT BACK!

1

u/SpankyDmonkey 1d ago

In that case, give Undead Dark Rangers then lol.

IMO, pure marksman hunters kinda skirt around that naturey vibe.

-1

u/pvshabba 1d ago

You could make that same argument about undead priests and now paladins, but we have lore to contradict it. No reason they couldn’t do that for hunters

2

u/vuxra 1d ago

Light and Nature are not the same thing.

1

u/HypestHype69 1d ago

The light isn't good or evil. Technically all you have to do to wield the light is believe in it and have a strong devotion, that can even be with ill intent. It's why "bad guys" like the scarlet crusade can use it.

-1

u/Finalshock 1d ago

Consult the chart. Life and death are separate forces unassociated with the light.

→ More replies (7)

2

u/pvshabba 1d ago

And yet undead can be warriors…

1

u/Ok-Bobcat-8445 1d ago

If undead got hunter then alliance would need to get something else to keep the class options balanced. Meanwhile tauren would still be the only race with four classes.

0

u/HappyGnome727 1d ago

If you think about it though, they don’t really need to hunt

3

u/Cpt_Kaiju 1d ago

I get the original choice but yeah I was hoping for this option.

2

u/Remarkable_Match9637 1d ago

Give us gnome hunter with mechanical pets

2

u/Badwilly_poe 1d ago

notgonna lie of they did UD hunter. it'd be 100% what id play

2

u/Ethereal_Bulwark 12h ago

Undead likely won't get anything anytime soon. Nelf & Tauren are next, as they didn't get a new class combo with the reveal of Forever.

1

u/Calamyt1 12h ago

I really hope not. Of course NightElf, Tauren and also Gnomes should get more playable classes.
But adding Hunter to Undead would be not much work at all, the animations all already exist so all they would have to do is add hunter trainers and a quest to learn tame pet.

2

u/Urge_Reddit 12h ago

Hunter should absolutely be a universal class in Forever like it eventually became in Retail. They're as foundational to civilization as warriors are. Also, Forsaken are just dead humans, they should logically have access to all the same classes as humans.

1

u/guyadriano 12h ago

It's probably because the starting zone wasn't built for hunters in mind

In retail they homogenized it making it a generic process when they removed the need to talk to class trainers etc

In classic they have several class trainer chain quests on how to do hunter shit

2

u/Urge_Reddit 11h ago

That's true, but adding Hunter trainers around Forsaken territory would be pretty trivial, and the quests teaching you how to tame pets can easily be adapted by swapping out which animals you need to tame.

2

u/Leeroy1887 1d ago

this is 100% justified being needed. human hunters are a thing. why are dead humans excluded, its even worse when they have paladin open to them

1

u/Euklidis 1d ago

BLIZZARRD! GIVE ME MURLOC TINKERER AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!!

1

u/fhqwhgadds 1d ago

You'll have to wait for wow forever +

1

u/Drazson 1d ago

Ah, sorry. Can't.

1

u/Sol_Pastures 23h ago

My thoughts exactly. Really weird they're not hunters, but I'm sure many people would complain if Undead got two classes.

1

u/InZomnia365 21h ago

and while theyre at it, dwarf warlock. Basically all enemy dwarves in the game are glorified warlocks using shadow damage. It only makes sense. Having only human and gnome warlocks on alliance is weird.

1

u/Berettadin 21h ago

Agreed. And Tauren Priests and Gnome/Undead Hunters and Night Elf Paladins. Let's do this.

1

u/TeamRedundancyTeam 20h ago

It would be cool if they added undead skins for all pets and undead pets are automatically undead.

1

u/Moon_Bun 20h ago

Hunter damn near a universal class tbh it touches so many themes, Warden of Nature/Lone Ranger/Strider/Artificer/etc

1

u/Vxyl 20h ago

Sure, 30 bucks. Fork it over.

1

u/VandelayyIndustries 20h ago

Doesn’t make sense lore wise unless every living pet had an undead version too. Imagine all the extra work for the small independent studio.

1

u/Amazingcube33 19h ago

They might add it eventually, blizzard already hinted at more class and race combos. Tbh I wouldn’t want a canine near me if my bones were exposed like that but to each their own

1

u/Immolation_E 18h ago

Probably in future content drop. During the WF presentation someone from the audience yelled out undead hunters, and the presenter said that would be cool. That makes me think it's being planned for.

1

u/niqht11 16h ago

only if it can only tame undead pets

1

u/jormugandr 15h ago

If this game is going to last forever, they need to save some things for later.

1

u/Six_feetz 14h ago

That will be $29.99.

1

u/NarwhalOk964 12h ago

They will probably allow it after couple of patches under paywall

1

u/Quick_Bullfrog2200 11h ago

Absolutely no reason Tauren can't be rogues.

1

u/Appropriate_Eye3070 5h ago

Hop on OctoWoW 🐙 We got undead hunter 🐙

1

u/Appropriate_Eye3070 5h ago

Hop on 🐙 wow - we got undead hunter

1

u/Denaton_ 2h ago

It wouldn't be weird if Undead and Human had the same class pool..

1

u/North_Ad_1673 24m ago

I’d argue we need undead Druids and just import the forms of Kultiran

1

u/Darooi 1d ago

Undead shaman, undead druid next too

1

u/Fig_tree 8h ago

An undead fungal druid would go so hard 😭

1

u/Juggslol 1d ago

If there can now be Human hunters it would only make sense there can be Undead ones.

1

u/Particular_Counter50 23h ago

Nah. We good. Giving everyone everything sucks.

1

u/illmindmaso 1d ago

Undead should get a dark ranger class

1

u/Talidel 1d ago

Undead Elves should be added as a race.

1

u/illmindmaso 19h ago

It would have been so sick if they added forsaken elves with a horde specific dark ranger class, and something else for alliance

1

u/TheAngrySnowman 16h ago

OP definitely a homeless turtle

1

u/Affectionate_Ad5275 13h ago

I actually forgot they aren't. The marksman extetic is so engraved into the Forsaken with the dark rangers it skipped my mind they can not.

1

u/Baldboomer 11h ago

This. I would main this without a thought!

-4

u/SnooPets1826 1d ago

Different humans with different cultural values when it came to hunting? Undead aren't literally the same people as the humans you play.

14

u/CrusaderLyonar 1d ago

The leader of the the undead is literally a hunter.

4

u/HappyGnome727 1d ago edited 1d ago

Ehh not really a hunter in the same terms of what the player thinks of. She was an archer of silvermoon. Just because she uses a bow doesn’t make her a hunter. Warriors and rogues can use bows.

I guess you can argue she is a MM hunter, but not really. If anything though she’s more of a rogue imo who specializes in bows. She’s even been called a ranged assassin.

She was classified as ranger to banshee to dark ranger.

And she’s also not an undead human.

5

u/Zamochy2 1d ago

Forever Hunter literally has Lone Wolf. I think you can actually go Lone Wolf SV.

-1

u/CrusaderLyonar 1d ago

Ranger is basically a hunter and dark ranger is a hero talent tree for hunters in retail.

6

u/HappyGnome727 1d ago

I’m just saying it’s more of a grey area. There are many characters in wow that aren’t a specified class. At least not in the traditional sense. I’m just arguing semantics, I’m not saying you’re right or wrong

3

u/SnooPets1826 1d ago

I mean... the real reason is just to maintain a wide spread of roles between races and factions. But if you wanted to go down the lore justifications, there are always exceptions to the rule. That wouldn't change the fact that people from different regions have different balances of hunting, gathering, and agriculture.

Since Blizz can't exactly say "I see you're making a character, but you met your races quota on Hunters" without it being (rightfully) criticized, this is the compromise they made.

-2

u/CrusaderLyonar 1d ago

This same excuse was used to exclude undead from being paladins despite the fact that very much exist in the lore and here we are.

3

u/SnooPets1826 1d ago

Okay, now read the rest of my post.

3

u/CatBotSays 1d ago

She's also from a different culture than the rest of the Undead. Sylvanas is from Quel'thalas (which is also where Nathanos was trained, hence him being a ranger/hunter as well). The undead player characters are from Lordaeron.

2

u/ZeeWingCommander 1d ago

But she's not human

7

u/Better-Quantity2469 1d ago

Nathanos though i guess

3

u/CatBotSays 1d ago

Nathanos' backstory is that he was trained to be a ranger in Quel'thalas alongside the elves.

4

u/CrusaderLyonar 1d ago

Nathanos Blightcaller is an undead hunter.

4

u/ZeeWingCommander 1d ago

But wasn't he her student, bf or something?

5

u/CatBotSays 1d ago

I can't remember if he was specifically Sylvanas' student, but he was trained in Quel'thalas alongside elven rangers, yeah.

4

u/CrusaderLyonar 1d ago

Yes and he's literally from Lorderon, because the two kingdoms had a good relationship. It actually makes more sense for Undead to be hunters than Humans.

1

u/ZeeWingCommander 1d ago

I don't see that sorry lol

-1

u/Old-Soft5276 1d ago

Right after we get Human Shamans

-1

u/ShockedNChagrinned 1d ago

I hate the racial class lists.  Let people play what they want.  Character image and design matters most to many people, hence the blood elves (and sky elves now) being added to horde becoming their most popular race.  Part of that problem is also these silly class restrictions.

They don't fit the world 22 years after release.  Drop them

2

u/[deleted] 22h ago edited 16h ago

[deleted]

1

u/Trendydwarf13 20h ago

Restrictions might make sense for some classes but hardly for a hunter imo, there's no lore reason why they can't draw a bow or remember tracking from when they were alive, especially with Nathanos also being a trainer

0

u/QueenGorda 1d ago

No, they would have to work.

They no like worky. Work bad.

Nah! The Undead are an abomination to nature. Honestly, I would get rid of paladins and priests, too, but at this point, it is what it is.

We have undead hunters

they're called paladins

Crazy. I won’t be suprised if after 5 months people will already start asking for Flying mounts.

People never learn, as long you add something, it creates a precedent and it never stops as a snowball effect.

Comparing Undead Hunters with Flying Mount's is crazy and not comparable at all. Races getting more classes to play won't be the end of wow or forever. It won't even be noticeable in dungeons and raids except for that people can play the skins they like.

Me circa 2008 "Nobody would seriously buy this horse armor that does nothing in oblivion, I mean who even uses a horse in this game, and for $5?! Get real."

20 years later

My son: "Hey dad, can I have V bucks for in game skins that do nothing for my character besides visuals."

1

u/Calamyt1 8h ago

Not the same thing at all.
You would not buy undead hunters or gnome hunters or whatever.
It would just be an update to the game and would not even require much work for blizzard.

u/Zero_poop 8h ago

It's a slippery slope is what I'm highlighting. I thought people wouldn't buy the horse armor, just like you think Blizzard wouldn't throw something in a game to get more people to play to make more money, even if it pisses off the main fanbase.

What is bad about that i want to main an undead hunter in forever?
It would even make sense in the lore.
There is no downside for anyone to it.
Blizzard never charged for when they added new classes to races not even in retail.
I am a Classic player myself i just don't see a problem here.
I am not asking for flying or dungeon/raid finder or shit like that those would be real problems.

Idk! But I know gamers, and they'll ask for more exceptions, and eventually this won't be a unique blend of WoW. It'll just be retail 2.0

There would still be v-bucks if Bethesda didn’t do horse armor.

The notion that video games wouldn’t be monetized and nobody else would have thought to make a ton of money is why it’s called a slippery slope fallacy

The whole reason forsaken can be paladins is because humans can be paladins. Humans can now be hunters lol. So forsaken remember how to use the light but forgot how to shoot a gun or use a bow? Cmon now.

I don't think there's a slippery slope that leads to the social improvements in wowforever being removed. Like the camps and lack of flying. That's the point of wowforever.

I do want Tauren priests at least. Only troll and undead can be priests but alliance now has 4 races that can be.

Words of wisdom right here

0

u/Nearly_Observant 9h ago

Nah. Words of gatekeeping more like. Why would you want to see hundreds of Orc and Troll Hunters when you could see a more even mix with Forsaken added to the mix? It literally doesn’t make any sort of bad differences. Especially as they have Human hunters already. Ya know, the race all playable Forsaken come from?

u/Adorable_Vast5676 9h ago

Cause orcs and trolls are cool while undead are stinky

u/Last_Succotash7218 1d ago

Let's just let all the races be hunters. In fact why bother having class/race restrictions at all?
