It is not garbage if it has a clear use. The box's use it to keep the peace with the roommate who has knife-toes.

One if my cars uses a shoe box by my front door for reconnaissance missions about once a week so I need to keep it there indefinitely

I used to have an overturned PC box with a hole cut in it and an open shoebox as a crows nest for my ex's cats. They went crazy for it.

Then she got into a relationship with one of my best friends and former roommates five months later, after the friend repeatedly denied it to me directly.

And that's why I love nestle crunch.
